9(i) MCC PANEL

Designing, manufacturing, testing, supplying anderecting at site vertical floor mounting freestanding/wall mounting extensible on either side,compartmentalised cubical type panel board madeof 14 G (= 2.00 mm) CRCA MS sheet suitable for500/415V, 50 HZ, AC, 3 Phase and neutral systemhaving the following features :

i) The panel shall be designed to ensure IP 4X

protection degree also that the weight of thecomponents is adequately supported withoutdeformation or loss in alignment.

ii) The doors of the cubicle shall be fitted with dustexcluding neophrene gaskets with fastners forproper compression of the gaskets.

iii) The panel shall be multitier compartmentalisedcubical type, extensible on either side and shall betreated with all anticorrosive process (Seven tankprocess) before powder coated painting ofapproved shade.

iv) Busbars shall be of continuous rated HDHC tinnedcopper confirming to IS 1897 as ammended up todate adequate for specified rated continuous andshort circuit current covered by proper gradedcolour coded heat shrinkable PVC sleeves.Busbars shall be supported by suitable hylaminsulator supports. High tensile bolts and springwashers are to be provided on all busbars andsuitable drilled holes for connection joints. Thebusbars shall have a through fault withstandcapacity of 31 MVA RMS symmetrical for onesecond. The interconnections between the busbarsand the circuit breakers shall be made bycontinuous rated tinned copper strips suitablycovered by proper graded heat shrinkable colourcoded PVC sleeves or by unarmoured coppercable. The earth busbar/s shall run through thelength of the panel and terminated at two ends.

v) All the MCCBs shall be provided with extended

rotary operated mechanism. Safety interlocks areto be provided to prevent the doors of thecompartments housing the MCCBs to prevent thedoors to open when the MCCBs are in `ON'position.

vi) All control wiring in the panel shall be carried outwith 1.1 KV grade single core PVC insulatedcopper conductors of minimum 2.5 sq mmcrosssection for potential circuits and CT circuits.Wiring should be neatly bunched, adequatelysupported, properly routed and finally crimped.Wires are to be identified by numbered ferules ateither end. Terminal blocks used are of clamp typewith barriered terminals and are to be numbered.

vii) Adequate cabling space should be available in thepanel with cable supports, cable alleys etc.Provision for top/bottom entry and termination ofrequired number of A2XFY/A2X WY cable asindicated in the SLD shall be provided. The positionof control switches, push buttons, levers, etcrequiring manual operation shall be at a height notexceeding 1850 mm from the finished floor level.

viii) The panel shall also comprise of necessary meters,

CTs, protection MCBs fuses, indication lamps,thermal relays, contactors, auto manual switches,lifting bolts, label inscriptions (metallic engravedidentification tags) describing the rating of thebreakers, designation of the feeders etc includingall other accessories, complete as per IE Rules andregulations conforming to relevant IS and dulyapproved and inspected at works aftermanufacturing by IACS/Consultant.
