Fire Gas Detector GSME

The low spurious alarm detection system for early fi re detection using innovative gas sensor techniques and evaluation methods

The fi re detector GSME is the classic model of the ADICOS – series with the advanced multiple-criteria technology for gas sensors. With aid of different sensor combinations the GSME detector is able to detect of all types of hidden and open to detect of all types of hidden and open fi res already in the beginning phase.

The GSME-L3 is designed for applica-tions in complicated industrial areas, tions in complicated industrial areas, where conventional smoke detectors where conventional smoke detectors cannot be used due to high dust load or cannot be used due to high dust load or pollution.

The GSME-HC (Hydro Carbons) is arbons) is equipped with special hydro carbon sen-sors and is therefore suitable for areas sors and is therefore suitable for areas with a high load of CO and H2.

The signal processing is carried out with The signal processing is carried out with the aid of advanced algorithms, which the aid of advanced algorithms, which integrate the experience of a variety of integrate the experience of a variety of fi re tests as well as true fi re patterns as fi re tests as well as true fi re patterns as experienced in practice.

These systems are immune against These systems are immune against humidity and dust contamination. This humidity and dust contamination. This is a feature, which could so far not be is a feature, which could so far not be achieved by other systems.

The fi re gas detector GSME is an ad-vanced model of the ADICOS – series, vanced model of the ADICOS – series, which originates from the mutual devel-opment tasks of the University Gießen and the RWE Energie-AG in regards to the detection of brown coal smoldering fi res in their beginning phase.

Aside from the use in a variety of large power plants and different types of heating plants the detectors of the ADI-COS series are used in areas of fi re monitoring, in which an early detection was impossible before, because of the background stress. For many years the ADICOS systems have been reliably parts of fi re protection concepts.

Based on the specifi c adaptation of the sensor system and the algorithms the concept of the ADICOS systems also is suitable for the application in diffi cult environmental conditions.

Special Characteristics:

• Selective and early registration of a large spectrum gases caused by smoldering fi res.

• High Sensitivity

• Low false alarm rate due to multiple criteria evaluation and integration of the knowledge basis and the experience of a variety of fi re patterns in each detector

• Insensitive against humidity, dust contamination and airfl ow

• Low Power Consumption:2 VA

• Display at the Unit by LEDs: Alarm (red), Failure (yellow), Operation (green)

• Integrated Interfaces:a) Limit value contact

Alarm/Failureb) Service-bus system (M-bus)c) (Optional) integrated interface to

the central fi re detection system with individual identifi cation:Siemens Loop technology(Sigmaloop)

• Central registration, display, protocol and storage of all data and conditions of all detectors with aid of service PC

• Update of detector parameters and adaptation by remote maintenance

• Easy installation and wiring

If the units are equipped with the M-Bus network system, all measuring values and operating conditions like alarm and fault as well as certain internal conditions for the fault diag-nosis of all units can be displayed and recorded on one central computer.

Aside from a remote diagnosis and service support by the manu facturer for all connected units, it is also pos-sible to carry out an update of the evaluation algorithms and the stored knowledge basis via modem.

The supply lines are connected via a central plug and socket connection with bayonet fi tting. The unit does not have to be opened to carry out this task.

An exchange is possible during ongoing operation.
