SELF-REGULATION PROCESS

FOR FIRE SAFETY WORKS (PRESCRIPTIVE)

QP may seek consultation with SCDF or seek

waiver if QP cannot comply with fire safety

requirements before plan submission

Start

QP to explain non-compliance

End

Audit check ?No

Yes

QP submits plans to SCDF for approval

SCDF approves plans within 2 working days

based on self-regulation system

Design in order ?No

Yes

Explanation acceptable?

QP submits amendment

plans to SCDF and may

be issued warning

letter/fine/court action

No

FOR FIRE SAFETY WORKS (PERFORMANCE-BASED)

FSE prepares fire engineering design brief (FEDB)

FSE / relevant stakeholders may seek consultation with SCDF

Start

FSE submits plans to SCDF

for approval together with

*related documents

FSE prepares & submits

plans/related documents* to

peer reviewer for checking

Amendment Plan?

End

Yes

No

FEBD accepted ?No

SCDF audits the plans /

documents

FSE submits FEDB to SCDF for approval

SCDF clarifies with

FSE / Peer Reviewer
