How the sessions runIf choosing one or two activities for your event, the operator will brief your group and keep score. Each activity will run between 30 minutes and 60 minutes.

When choosing three or more activities, a Firebird event manager is required on the day (see costs above). The event is normally run as a competition, with teams marked on ability, leadership andmotivation.

After an introduction and safety briefing from our event manager / compere, teams will rotate through the activities, spending from 30 to 60 minutes on each.

Our Country Pursuit activities are a breath of fresh air, offering a mix of exciting, fun and memorable outdoor activities to bond your team. Our Country Pursuit activities can be operated in any suitable outdoor space (subject to venue agreement) and we can recommend locations if required.

For country pursuit activities we recommend team sizes of no larger than 10 people. Each activity rotation should be a minimum of 30 minutes and a maximum of 60 minutes.

i.e. for 28 people we would recommend 3 x teams of 9/10, with 3 x rotations lasting up to 3 hours

Firing and Shooting Activities

Archery Have a go at this Olympic hand-to-eyecoordination sport, and allow your instructorto turn you into the next Robin Hood orMaid Marion (green tights optional!) Archeryhas been used competitively for centuries,so why not pit your skill and judgmentagainst your crew. All bows used areapproximately 25 pounds recurve. Suitablefor participants age 16 and over.

Laser Clay Shooting Using de-activated 12 bore shotguns fittedwith laser technology, you can experiencethe thrill of clay shooting, without the messor danger of the original sport, making itsuitable for any event. Extremely accurate,the laser system can calculate your reactiontime, so challenges such as speed shoot,skeet and speed skeet can all be undertaken,competitively, if you wish. This activity caninvolve up to five participants at any time,with an electronic scoreboard keeping tally.Suitable for participants over the age of 12.

Axe Throwing An unusual and satisfyingly fun activity,which harks back to medieval times. Testyour accuracy and skills as you try to hit thebullseye. Suitable for participants over theage of 16.

Needing a steady hand and a precise aim, our professional and friendly operators will instruct you in these sports of Kings and Queens. Each activity is supplied with a small gazebo, plus the necessarysafety and support equipment and a Firebird Instructor.

Shooting MedleyTest your skills and accuracy using a medleyof guns against a range of targets. See if youcan take down our ‘knockdown rats andrabbits’, chalk dust targets, and hit ourtraditional bullseye target using a .177 AirPistol – Semi Automatic (8 shot), PistolCrossbow and .22 Scoped Air Rifle.Depending on time available guests canenjoy a practice round with each of the gunsfollowed by an individual skill round and ateam ‘quick fire’ round. Please note, onlytwo participants can shoot at a time. Nolicence required. Suitable for participantsover the age of 16.

Combat Archery

Semi-Automatic Pistols Three, two, one…draw. Test your accuracyand shooting skills with Semi-AutomaticPistols. Aiming for a series of targets, this isa great experience for novices and shootingenthusiasts of any standard. Suitable forparticipants over the age of 16. No licencerequired.

Fast and furiously fun, Combat Archery is abrand new game that brings together theskill of archery with the pace and excitementof Dodgeball and Paintball. Using speciallymade bows and foam tip arrows, two teams(of up to ten) score points by eliminatingopponents and targets. The purpose builtpitch contains 5 bunkers to hide behind and5 target cones, which are placed infront ofeach bunker. Separated by a neutral zone,teams must stay on their side of the field asthey shoot it out for victory. Each game lastsfor up to 10 minutes, and ends when eitherall team members are eliminated, all 5 targetcones have been hit, or time runs out. Oncethe game is finished, the scores are addedup, and the teams swap ends. If a playercatches an arrow, they can bring one of theireliminated players back into the game.

Clay Pigeon Shooting This incredible inflatable spaceship is wherethe action is. The dome is an impressive1000ft2 and consists of interconnectedchambers and tunnels ready for interactivelaser combat games to commence. After aquick briefing, up to 10 participants at a timewill enter the dome. Equipped with aflorescent body pack and laser gun, youmust battle it through the maze of tunnels,through smoke and laser beams to zap youropponents. Complete with sound effects,this is an exciting adrenaline booster of anactivity. Due to the use of smoke and strobelighting this activity is unsuitable for thoseaffected by strobe lighting.

One of our most popular activities - and withgood reason! A sport for all, our qualified,professional and friendly clay pigeonshooting instructors will challenge and helpyour guests achieve amazing results,whatever their experience. Each standincludes a professional, qualified shootinginstructor, safety cage and trap, suitableguns, hearing protection, up to 500 claysand low-recoil cartridges. Gun Dog Handling Ferret Racing Provided as an optional 15 - 20 minute finaleactivity when booking our Gun Dog Handlingthis is a unique and exciting way to round offyour event! These wonderful creatures loveto race, so it’s fun for all. For added interest,Ferret Roulette is incorporated where theferret is placed in a drum with a number ofexits at the base, and guests bet on whichexit the ferret will appear from.

Honda Pilots (Pair) Originally designed for dune racing, theseoff-road buggies have a phenomenal rate ofacceleration. Powerturns (Pair) Working together and coordination is key todriving these Powerturns. Designed and builtby an ex-Army Engineer, these exciting 2seater buggies have to be controlled by twocoordinated drivers using levers to powereach of the two separate engines. Quickacceleration produces 'wheelies,' but smalldrogue wheels prevent them from flippingover. A fun ‘team’ drive, you will be amazedat the performance of these extraordinarymachines.

Segway ‘Polo’Mixing the pace and agility of Polo with theaccuracy of Croquet, guests must work withtheir team to hit balls through and aroundobstacles using their mallets. Rage Buggies (Pair) Fast and furious, this off-road buggy likes abit of speed, thanks to its chassis and longtravel suspension. With a top speed of inexcess of 50mph, the 670cc 24hp v-twinengine is a good ride. It has a reductiongearbox with ATB differential, with optionalreverse, and a torque converter system.

Wearing safety helmets andstrapped onto a bungee cord, you must fightthe bungee cord (which is trying to pull youback) in order to get to the centre to collectas many balls as you can. Run as a fourplayer game, whoever has collected themost balls is the winner!

Based on a hit show, will you be the last onestanding? Simple, competitive and fun,players step onto the large inflatable bedand wait for the sweeper arm to rotatebefore jumping over it. If you’re not quickenough, or don’t jump high enough and thesweeper hits you – it’s a wipe-out, and youare out. The last one standing is, as thename suggests, the victor! With up to 8participants at a time, this is the perfectfinale for any competitive event, and ishilarious for players and spectators alike.Beware, our operator will be doing their bestto get players out by speeding up thesweeping arm, slowing it down and changingdirections at random!

Visual, fun and extremely popular, HumanTable Football is a hilarious game of 5-a-sideFootball, with a difference! Two teams offive enter an inflatable playing area. Youhave to attach yourselves by elastic tohorizontal poles which slide from side toside, to stop you from moving up and downthe pitch! As a team you need to defendyour goal whilst at the same time trying toscore in your opponent’s goal - you really areplaying a life sized game of ‘table football’.Usually played over two ten minute halves,our comedy referee will control the gamedishing out red and yellow cards whereverand whenever!

Medical PersonnelTest your strength against our bungee ropeand be catapulted back when our bungeerope wins! Wearing a body harness that’sattached to bungee ropes, you must wait forthe start, and then run like blazes, placingyour marker as far down your inflatable laneas possible, before the bungee rope pullsyou back. With two participants, it can startto get a little competitive – and is great as ateam event! For safety purposes protectivehelmets and neck braces must be worn, butthe inflatable setting does make for a softlanding.

Safety first... We would highly recommendmedical staff overseeing this event. Our firstaiders / paramedics are fully qualified andexperienced, holding all relevant certificatesrequired to carry out their duties.
