The SMART STAT Patient Simulator offers a wide range of simulation training possibilities for BLS, ALS, nursing and physician evaluation. The wireless, tetherless trainer oper-ates via Pocket PC (PPC) Bluetooth Technology and utilizes simple product control screens for ease of operations. No programming experience necessary. • In a resuscitation or emergency situation, the AMBU Laryngeal Mask is an ideal ventilation device. Sudden Cardiac Arrest kills more people than car wrecks, cancer, handguns, house fires and AIDS combined.

On an average day in the United States 1,000 adults die from Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA), a total of 350,000 per year. SCA is the result of an arrhythmia, where the electrical pulse of the heart goes out of control, causing the heart to quiver. Doctors don’t understand why this happens, but they do know that shocking the fibrillating heart is the only effective treatment.

The American Heart Association estimates that 20,000 to 100,000 SCA deaths could be prevented each year if defibrillation was readily available. Electrical shock restores a heartbeat and circulation, but to survive neurologically intact, rescue must be swift.

Defibrillation within the first minute of sudden cardiac arrest can save the lives of up to 90% of its victims. However, with each minute of delay until defibrillation, the survival rate drops by 10% (American Heart Association).

Even the very best EMS systems experience delays from heavy traffic, secured buildings, gated communities, large building complexes and high-rises. In New York City, where emergency response teams fight extreme traffic, the average arrival time for emergency vehicles is about 12 minutes. The cardiac arrest survival rate there is less than 2 percent.

The story begins during the Crusades when a courageous band of crusaders known as the Knights of St. John, fought the Saracens for possession of the holy land. The usual plans called for siege warfare and as the Knights advanced on the wall city, they encountered a new weapon unknown to European warriors. It was a simple, but a horrible device of war; it wrought excruciating pain and agonizing death upon the brave fighters for the cross. The Saracen’s weapon was fire.

As the crusaders advanced on the wall of the city, glass bombs containing naphtha struck them. When they became satu-rated with the highly flammable liquid, the Saracens hurled flaming torches into their midst. Hundreds of knights were burned alive; others risked their own life to save their brothers-in-arms from dying painful, fiery deaths.

Thus, these men became our first firemen and the first of a long list of courageous firefighters. Their heroic efforts were recognized by fellow crusaders who awarded each there a badge of honor - a cross similar to the one firemen wear today. Since the Knights of St. John lived for close to four centuries on a little island in the Mediterranean Sea named Malta, the cross came to be known as the Maltese Cross.

The Maltese Cross is your symbol of protection. It means that the fireman who wears this cross is willing to lay down his life for you just as the crusaders sacrificed their lives for their fellow man so many years ago. The Maltese Cross is a fire-man’s badge of honor, signifying that he works in courage - a ladder rung away from death.

Ordering Information

Open account terms will be extended to all tax supported organizations, state, local, and federal government agencies. All other customers will be granted open account status upon credit ap-proval. Call or fax FHM with request for credit application.

OPEN ACCOUNT TERMS: NET 30 DAYSPaymentAll payments must be made in US Dollars. Past due invoices are subject to a service charge of (insert rate) per month (insert annual rate). There will be a $30.00 charge for all returned checks. All customers without open account status must enclose a certified check or money order with mail order for the entire amount plus shipping charges. NO C.O.D. ORDERS ACCEPTED. FHM welcomes VISA or MASTERCARD, a 3% transaction fee will be added for credit purchases. Prices subject to change without prior notice.

Shipping/Freight/HandlingFHM reserves the right to determine the most efficient means of shipping. All orders shipped F.O.B. ORIGIN (shipping Point). Shipping charges will be prepaid and added to the invoice on all open ac-count purchases. Whenever possible, merchandise will be shipped UPS, DHL, or Parcel Post. Ship-ments leave FHM warehouse within 48 hours of order, subject to stock on hand. In “out of stock” situations, items are automatically back-ordered and shipped as soon as possible.

WarrantiesFHM offers no warrant of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose or use. FHM products are not “consumer products” as that term is defined in public law 93-637 and FHM makes no war-ranties implied to “consumers” thereunder. FHM shall not be liable under any circumstances for consequential or incidental damages of any kind. Consult your local medical authority for specific protocols relative to product use and patient care.

ClaimsFHM carefully inspects, documents and weighs all orders prior to shipping. If there is a problem with damaged shipments, the customer should first contact the carrier. FHM will assist in any way in claims made against the carrier. In situations where the customer received a short shipment, FHM should be notified immediately. In the event that we have made an error, we will promptly make the adjustment at no charge to the customer.

Firehouse Medical, Inc. currently ships our innovative product line into over 50 countries world-wide. We work with excellent shippers and freight forwarders that are located in every major airport and sea port in the world. You can pick up your shipment at the forwarding agent’s loca-tion, or arrangements can be made to transport your order directly to your door, office or place of business. All international shipments are made by air, unless otherwise specified. Ocean freighting is available for larger orders. Please remember that product will be sold in case quantities only. *Minimum international orders: $150.00 (U.S.)

All international distributor orders over $5,000.00 (U.S.) must be made by Irrevocable Letter of Credit in Firehouse Medical, Inc’s favor. If you wish to pay by letter of credit, please notify us of your intentions, and we will send you the necessary information.
