TRAINING AT WORK GROUP

Creating a Safer Covid-19 Training Environment

What to expect on the training day.During this time, there are a number of new measures that have been implemented by the training provider. This document is a guide of what to expect on arrival at your course.

1. ARRIVING AT THE VENUE When you arrive at the venue you should be greeted by your trainer.

As part of the training providers risk assessment, they will be taking the temperatures of learners on arrival.

Please have your form of ID available at this point for your training provider to check.

You will be directed to the room that you have chosen as suitable to conduct your training in and asked to sit in one of the designated places. These places will be fixed and you must adhere to the government guidelines at all times.

2. IN THE CLASSROOMWhen you get to your table you will find a few items on your table which includes gloves, a training bandage, a face shield, a small wipe, first aid manual and a Learner Registration Form.

Whilst your training provider continues to check everyone coming into the room, please sanitise your hands and complete the Learner Registration Form. Then place it onto the plastic wallet for the trainer to collect before the start of the course.

3. STARTING THE COURSEOnce all learners have arrived and are seated, your training provider will come into the room and begin the course. They will remind you of the current government guidelines in relation to social distancing which must be abided by at all times.

4. DURING THE COURSEYour training provider will advise you when you need to use appropriate items on your table, for example they may ask you to wear gloves before handling any equipment relevant to the course. They expect your cooperation and understanding that this is not only for your safety but for the safety of everyone whom they train over this period.

5. BREAK AND LUNCHAt scheduled times during the course, a break and/or lunch time will be called. We are requesting that all learners vacate the room during these times, preferably outside weather permitting. This is to allow our trainer to set up the whole room for the next part of the course. The trainer will advise the easiest way to do this. All learners will be expected to wash their hands prior to coming back into the room and this will be monitored.

6. PRACTICAL ELEMENTSThe awarding organisations have made some changes to the way training providers assess your learning, this is in line with the training providers Awarding Organisation’s recommendations. The trainers have also used this time to purchase additional equipment to enable you to complete the qualification without the need to physically touch another learner.

7. DEALING WITH AN UNCONSCIOUS CASUALTY WHO IS BREATHING NORMALLY

A Manikin will be used for part of this. The other part you will be expected to be able to put yourself in the position whilst verbalising your actions. Gloves will be required to be worn whilst handling the manikins. The trainer will demonstrate this before you will need to demonstrate.

[email protected]

8. DEALING WITH AN UNCONSCIOUS CASUALTY WHO IS NOT BREATHING NORMALLY (CPR)

This will be demonstrated on the Manikins. Gloves and Face shields will be used for this demonstration.

9. DEFIBRILLATORS (A.E.D)The defibrillators must only be passed to each delegate by the trainer. This will be cleaned down with 70% alcohol wipes between each delegate.

10. CHOKING CASUALTYThis will be demonstrated on the mankins.

11. BLEEDING CASUALTYThis will be demonstrated on yourselves or a manikin. You will be provided with your own clean bandages to do the demonstration.

12. CONTAMINATED ITEMSIt is advised by the awarding organisations that any training items that you have used be placed in waste bins/ plastic bags, that the training provider has provided, after use. This will include anything you have touched without gloves.

13. PAPERWORKAs part of this course you will be expected to complete an exam. Any paperwork that needs to be completed will need to be placed on the table for the trainer to collect. Paperwork must not be passed round.

HEALTH AND SAFETYWhilst every effort will be made by the training provider to make your course safe you must conduct your own risk assessment and comply with its findings.

The training provider retains the right to stop the training should delegates fail to maintain the measures outlined above. No refunds will be issued in this event.

We thank you for choosing us.
