FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH

Welcome in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Bibles (blue cover) and hymnbooks (brown cover) are provided for your use.

A nursery is available in the lower hall for infants and toddlers.

Washrooms are also located in the lower hall.

If you wish to have a cushion or hard of hearing headset, please speak to one of the

ushers who will be happy to obtain these items for you.

We invite you to complete one of the blue Visitor Cards in the pew rack and place it

in the offering plate toward the end of the worship service. This will help us get to know you better!

Please silence cell phones and other electronics. Speak softly, move slowly and allow each one present to listen for God’s voice.

Many people have allergies to fragrances and perfumes, so we try to keep our church a scent-free zone in consideration of the health and wellbeing of others!

Thank you!

Should you wish to have someone pray with or for you, today’s Deacon-on-Duty will

be pleased to meet with you following the worship service. Please come to the front, west side pew.

Prayer of the day: O God, before Your only begotten Son walk intentionally toward His suffering and death, He revealed His glory upon the mountain. May we, seeing by faith the light of His face, be strengthened to hear our cross and be changed into His likeness from glory to glory. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

release. Come away from noise and clamour, life’s demands and frenzied

pace; Come to join the people gathered here to seek and find God’s

grace.

Unison Confession Marie Fariela God, You created this whole world and You made each of us. You do not hate what You have made. You do not enjoy

watching people suffer from guilt, fear, or helplessness. We admit to You before everyone here that we did and said things

we should not have last week. We thought and felt things that have no place in Your kingdom. We are sorry. Forgive us for our

sins. Create in us new hearts and change how we think. Fill us again with the Holy Spirit. We as this because of what Jesus has

done for us. We ask this all in His name. Amen.

Assurance of Pardon

*Hymn of Praise “To God Be the Glory” #66

*Apostles Creed I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord, Who was

conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried. He

descended to the dead. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of

God the Father Almighty, from there He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy

catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen

VOICE NOVEL STUDY The next novel study will be on Saturday March 5th. We will be reading “Good to a Fault” by Marina Endicott.

In a moment of self-absorption, Clara Purdy’s life takes a sharp left turn when she crashes into a beat-up car carrying an itinerant family of six. The Gage family had been traveling to a new life in Fort McMurray, but bruises on the mother, Lorraine, prove to be late-stage cancer rather than remnants of the accident. Recognizing their need as her responsibility, Clara tries to do the right thing and moves the children, husband and horrible grandmother into her own house—then has to cope with the consequences of practical goodness.

The novel study is open to all women who love to read, but can’t commit to a bi-weekly study. It is a chance to get together and enjoy the thoughts and perspectives of others on the chosen book. If you are interest in adding your name to our e-mail list please let Laureen know 306-757-8403.

VOICE Voice will be meeting on Wednesday, February 17th, 7:00 p.m. at Martha’s. We will be discussing the 10th chapter of Philip Yancey’s new book “Vanishing Grace: Whatever Happened to the Good News?”

Voice is a women’s literature group which meets every two weeks on Wednesday evening to discuss a book related to our spiritual journey. More than that, we are a support system for each other, sharing our blessings and challenges, and seeking a better understanding of God in our daily lives. If you are interested in joining Voice or just want more info. – please talk to Laureen Snook (306-757-8403) or Martha Pauls.
