Christian Doormats?Not many of us have suffered at work because of our faith. Some have. And, I have a hunch, many more will suffer some sort of hardship in the workplace because of their faith in the future. It isn’t easy. And it is especially difficult to do without sinking into bitterness. Are Christians called to be social doormats? Jesus told us to “turn the other cheek, go the extra mile, and give the shirt off your back.” Sometimes, it seems like our destiny is to be walked on.When we think that way, descending into bitterness is unavoidable. Jesus suffered unmatched injustice but he did not retaliate or sulk in bitterness. In fact, his whole demeanor throughout his trial and crucifixion confounded his enemies. He eventually “won the day.” We, too, are to follow in Jesus’ footsteps. How are we to do that when we are unjustly accused? It’s the Sunday School answer: “God.” We’ll unpack that incredible insight from today’s text.Pastor Bob

The theme for the AFC 2019 Offering is “Healing Communities” based on Galatians 6:9-10: Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers (NIV).How is the AFC offering used?
