FBC Daycare is currently taking

applications for the 2016-2017

school year beginning in June

2016. We currently have limited

openings for the spring 2016 school year. For more

information contact Linda Keyes at 318-628-6996.

It’s hard to believe the month of January has just about

come and gone. In just a few short weeks, springtime

will officially be here and we will be celebrating Easter!

We have many events coming up on the horizon in the

near future so mark your calendars and come join us.

Senior Adult Bible Study Luncheon – Our second Bible

Study Luncheon will take place on Thursday, February 18

at 11:30 a.m. Hopefully, this series of mini study

sessions will help prepare us for the F.B.C. Bible

Conference that we will be hosting in March. The meal

will be provided by the church, so sign up in the office if

you plan to attend.

Sanctuary Choir – I want to take this opportunity to

thank the members of the Sanctuary Choir for their

dedication and commitment to worship leadership. These

people freely give their time each week to rehearse on

Wednesday evenings to prepare for upcoming services

and special events. If you enjoy singing and are

interested in being a part of the choir, come join us on

Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m.

Congratulations!!! – Congratulations go to Kalyn Avant

for being accepted to be a member of the Louisiana

Baptist All State Youth Choir! Acceptance into this

organization is based on a live audition that tests vocal

skills and musicianship. This year marks the thirty-fourth

year of this audition choir. Students from all over the

state of Louisiana will travel to Tennessee to share God’s

love with those who do not know Him. They will

perform 10 – 15 mission concerts in Memphis, Nashville,

and Chattanooga before returning home on June 10th.

The Tennessee Concert and Mission Tour is scheduled

for June 1 through 10, so let’s be in prayer for Kalyn as

God uses her to share His love through music.

Greetings First Winnfield Family,

This week I have been so encouraged. What a great

Sunday morning of worship that we had together. It has

been so good to see so many new and familiar faces over

the past several weeks. However, I NEED YOUR

HELP! First, don't simply see new faces, make them a part

of your worship experience for the day. Introduce yourself

and ask them a few questions about themselves. Invite

them to sit with you if they have not come with anyone

specific. At the end of the service introduce them to two

others as well. When a church connects visitors to more

than 3 members, those visitors most often become a part of

that church. Finally, at the end of the service, thank them

for coming and ask them if you can introduce them to

me. After I get to speak with them, either ask them to

lunch OR let them know that you will be looking forward

to seeing them the next week at church. Friendly churches

are growing churches. When visitors come to our church

they are asking to find Jesus. Connect them to Him by

your genuine love for them.

I LOVE YOU and am thankful to be your pastor.

Keep Moving Forward,

Steven Smithson
