credits. The 60% credit or about 82 credits and above to qualify
students undergoing industrial attachment . The 60% credit is the
current total credit in this Semester I 2017/2018 session and will include
the number of credits registered on the next Semester II 2017/2018.

The Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC) is a delegatedbody by the Board of Engineers Malaysia as the onlyrecognized accrediting body for engineering degreeprogramme offered in Malaysia.
Civil Engineering programme in UTHM was accredited inApril 2011 and has been granted recognition for 5 years.
According to EAC, the Industrial Training course must beattended by third year students; therefore all students willget involved with industries during training and will bringback all the knowledge/information/networking/ problem-related from industries to be used in the university forresearch/final year project/ commercialization purposes.
SYNOPSIS OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING
Students are required to undergo industrialtraining for 10 weeks in the field of civilengineering at the organization as determined bythe university and another 1 weeks at theuniversity for CQI session.
During 10 weeks period at the organization, eachstudent will be assessed by the supervisor of thefaculty (PF) and the industrial supervisor (PI).Another additional 1 weeks in the university, eachstudent will be assessed by the PF.

This program will gives students exposure to asystematic and structured approach in civilengineering disciplines such as design,construction, consulting or research.
Students are given guidance on occupationalhealth and safety and work ethics in the industry.
Students are given the opportunity to participatedirectly in management, planning, budgeting,preparation of key documents / material andsupervision depends on the projects implementedin the industry.

Practical training will be conducted at the companies, firms or government agencies that have been certified by the Office of University Relations and Industry (PHI), Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia.

SCOPE OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING
Knowing the distribution of industrial and organizational tasks in the operation of daily work, planning, specifically duties and responsibilities of a civil engineer.
Know about planning procedures and be associated with construction work.
Carry out site investigation works and surveys of land for a project planning and preparation of simple reports and/or technical reports.
To carry out the work under review (survey) and analysis of specific data for the preparation of a project plan.
Conducting Environmental Impact Assessment study (EIA) for development project activities.

Comprehensive plan for carrying out a development project.
Serving as a site engineer at a construction site projects such as buildings, highways, bridges, airport runways, water and water treatment plants and other waste.
Designing layout and structural plans for small projects such as housing, industrial areas, service centers, recreational projects, educational institutions, tourism centers and others.
Undertake the work to design a development project.
Carry out structural design work using the latest computer software

EVALUATION OF INDUSTRIAL TRAINING
Assessment of students is based on several important aspects during and after the training industry;
Current (8 – 10 weeks) industry practice will be evaluated on an ongoing basis by a supervisor (PI) which is appointed by industry and evaluated once by the faculty supervisor (PF) who are appointed by the Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering during a visit to the industry.
After (1 weeks) the practical training will be evaluated from the final report writing and presentation, and bound to a panel of assessors.

MINIMUM PERIOD must follow the course code, if less than theperiod they will be considered as FAILED (for industrial training,90% of attendance (of 10 weeks) is COMPULSORY to be passed(HL).
DO NOT send the report and log book LATER THAN the datespecified.
Any student who have been complained of having disciplinaryproblems such as poor attendance, indifference take hold, do notreport for duty, etc., will be investigated and if it is true, would beconsidered FAILED.
