FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH JULY 2014
! PAGE 3
FAMILY EVENTS PLANNED FOR THE SUMMER!!! Plans are underway for a family camp night on the mountain on July 18-19th followed by Worship on the Mountain on July 20th. Plans are also underway for an all-church family picnic in town on July 16th. Youth are encouraged to attend both of these events. Details to come. !SUMMER CHILDREN’S CHURCH - Veggie Tales Bible Stories will be held during church services for children preschool through grade 4. Volunteers are needed to facilitate children’s church this summer. Contact ERIKA S T U P A K @ 2 7 7 - 8 6 2 0 o r [email protected] if you can help. Summer children’s church is held in the board room down the hall from the sanctuary. !
Our church board has agreed to move forward with the Pumpkin Patch 2014. The first load of pumpkins is set to arrive Wednesday, October 8th. So we have pumpkins, we have the desire, and we have the place--- what we need is a LEADER for the patch--someone that can COORDINATE our TEAM that will set up, decorate, unload, maintain a tidy patch, coordinate sales and finance, schedule preschool story times and take down when the month is over. Please contact the church office or Jennifer Grooms if you, or your family, or you and a good f r iend would be wi l l ing to take on the leadership for the patch.
BRIDGE to the FUTURE
CELEBRATION!!! July 13
Fellowship Hall immediately following worship.
Join your church family for refreshments and fellowship as we lift up the success of
this venture to undergird future ministries at FCC.!!
To date , o ver 60% o f our members ha ve participated in some way. EVERY GIFT makes a difference! We have received gifts or pledges tota l ing over $250,000. Just ima gine the ministries this will make possible! THANK YOU to ALL who are contributing! Final totals will be announced at the July 13th Celebration. Please be sure to get in your pledge card or contribution. If you still have questions or like a visit from the Bridges team, contact Paul Hallock at 577-6307.
PRESCHOOL NEWS!!! It’s much needed break time for Preschool staff for the summer! The Preschool has one opening in the Pre-K class and four openings in the playgroup. The 3 - 4 year old class currently has a waiting list. You may call the church office for registration information.!! We are relocating the Preschool Director’s
off ice to the lower level to be c loser to the classrooms. Teacher Annette & her helpers are putting in a lot of work converting the Preschool Storage room into usable office space for next year. We expect this renovation project should be completed in early July.!! The teachers will be going on a retreat in August to the Denver Zoo for “Bunk with the Beasts.” They will use this time to brainstorm and talk about new ideas and spend time reflecting on upcoming changes. There will be an open house on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd and School will start on Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Next year’s theme will be “Dinosaurs”.
