PRE-KHello, Friends! Happy Easter! It’s time to celebrate that Jesus is
alive! He went away, but He came back! Yay, Jesus! Remember,this Easter could be the very first time EVER for some of thepreschoolers at your church to hear the true story of Easter. Andfor others, this could be their first time ever even going to church.We have the awesome opportunity to tell them for the first timeabout how Jesus washed His disciples’ feet; made His triumphalentry; died and rose again; built His Church; and gave us the GreatCommission. We get to tell them the true story of how much Godloves them and how He gave them His only Son. We get to tellthem that Jesus is alive, and He wants to be their friend forever.We have one of the best jobs in the world! We get to share withpreschoolers that Jesus is the best! What an honor and a privilege.We’ll wrap up the month with the prodigal son where we’ll see thatwe can love, no matter what, thanks to forgiveness. Just like Jesusloves us, even when we do something wrong, we can love others,even when they do something wrong.It’s going to be an awesomemonth of building with our preschoolers. We’ll be building into kidswho can then proclaim, “I can love everyone.”
Grades K-8thFinally, we’ll take a closer look at thepassage where we find our memory verse.
In Philippians 2:3-8, Paul tells us how Jesusis the ultimate example of humility. Hegave up everything to come to earth andsave us.
Bottom Line: Put others first. We hope thatwhen kids take a look at the peoplearound them, that they will start to understand just how muchJesus loves them, it will change the way we treat them, and they’llmake sure to put them first.

Have you ever seen one of those moviesabout high school? You know the ones—the jocks keep theirdistance from the nerds, the cheerleaders ignore the band kids,and smart students avoid the skaters. Even though they’re justmovies, we’d all probably say there’s some truth to them becausewe all know that in real life we’re sometimes defined by our labels.And even though not all labels are bad, they still have a way ofmaking us feel stuck. Good or bad, true or untrue, labels have away of creating limits on our lives. In the Bible, no one understoodthis better than Moses. But as we take a look at the start of hisstory, we’ll see that even though Moses’ life could have beenlimited by his label, God certainly wasn’t.

FCC Community Groups Invariably when a newperson or family comes to FCC and they ask howthey can connect here, there are 2 questions thatsurface pretty quickly. The first is, “How can I joinin?” and the second is, “Do you have any smallgroups we can be a part of?” Thankfully we nowhave a more satisfactory response to those questions as people seek vitalrelationships within our church. Last week we initiated our launch of FCCCommunity groups as a means to facilitate healthy relationships and to be able to“do church” beyond the walls of our building more effectively. In the process weare not attempting to do away with existing groups or classes, but to expand theinfluence of groups in our church. Here’s the reason: Community Groups are anintegral part of what we do as a church. We believe that sustained life changeoccurs as we are growing in a relationship with Christ, and that this happens bestwhen we are prioritizing intentional relationships with others who are seeking thissame goal. Community Groups provide people with the opportunity to connectwith others, grow in their relationship with Christ, and experience community. OurCommunity Group leaders are tasked with creating environments for people todevelop and grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. Paul taught theCorinthians that some plant the seeds, others water them, but God makes themgrow (1 Corinthians 3:6). Group leaders have the privilege of creatingenvironments in which seeds of faith are planted and watered in the lives of thosethey lead, while trusting God with the growth. Our leaders play a pivotal role inhelping us achieve our mission to lead people into a growing relationship withJesus Christ! Because the effectiveness of our groups rises and falls on leadership,Community Group leaders are responsible for providing their groups with vision,direction, and support. Leaders are successful when they are personally growingin their intimacy with God, community with insiders, and influence with outsiders(Three Vital Relationships), and are leading their groups in such a way as to alsoencourage the group members' growth in these three relationships. The FCC staffplays a critical role in insuring that leaders are consistently supported, equippedand are successful in what they have been called to do. We are grateful for thosewho have been called to lead these new groups as we reset in a whole new waythe things we’ve done in the past. We are looking forward to seeing what God cando as we bring a more robust intentionality to the process. We also hope that ifyou are currently not in a group of any kind that you will consider joining one thisSunday as we continue our launch.
