No season excites me more than Fall. There is something about the change in temperature, the color of the leaves, and the harvest season that sets my heart to singing. This year there is a special excitement as our church goes through “Experiencing God.” I can see, hear, and feel how our hearts have been challenged to take our Christian commitment to a higher level. May God continue to bless our church as we apply the truth we have learned to our walk with Christ and our work in the church. The following weeks I will be preaching the morning services on the subject of “Crisis of Belief” (Oct 11) and “Adjustments we make to Join God” (Oct 18). Bring your Bible and an open heart to hear what God would say to your life. Adjusting Our Lives to follow God’s lead in our lives is the most rewarding experience this side of heaven. This coming Sunday is World Hunger Day. We will be having an Ingathering at both morning services. This o ering goes directly to our missionaries in the World situations so they can meet the hunger needs where they are. As we feed the stomachs of the starving, we also have the opportunity to tell them about the love of Christ. Giving to feed the hungry is an inner push that comes from the Christ who has given us life. Sunday Night will be a di erent schedule. We will have our service at 5:00, so we can have a fellowship at 6:00. K2 Nelson is appearing on America’s Funniest Videos and I want our church to support the Nelson Family. Come to church worship at 5:00 (Sanctuary) and fellowship to cheer for K2 at 6:00pm. Our Cookout at Camp Baldwin this past week was the church at fellowship. The food was so good - thanks Fellowship Committee and Truthseekers class - and the time was well spent together. We got to hear a message and a person accepted Christ. It was a special day. May God bless each of you. Take time to sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to Him speaking to your heart. Then, obey His directions. Live a Mary life in a Martha world. Your Pastor, Jerry Luke 10:42

Preschool/Children Building Team Earlier this year the church voted to approve a Preschool/Children’s Building Team to nd the best plan for building a new Preschool/Children’s Building and other future facilities to meet the needs of our congregation that will t within the requirements of the City of Fairhope. The Team has been meeting since early this year and recently interviewed three (3) architectural rms to nd the best rm to help us develop a new Master Plan for existing and future facilities. A major part of this plan will be to look at our current facilities usage and to provide us with several options for constructing a new Preschool/Children’s Building as soon as it is nancially feasible.

After meeting with these three (3) rms the Team recommended that MURICK GUROSKY & ASSOCIATES from Birmingham be hired as our architects for the Master Plan Phase. This recommendation was approved by the church at the Business Meeting on Wednesday, September 23. Be watching for updates from this Team as we move ahead in the coming months to see what God has in store for our church in terms of facilities.

Interest Meeting for the Perspectives Class On World Christian MovementMonday, December 7 @ 6:30 PMThere will be an INTEREST MEETING and FREE DINNER for an upcoming PERSPECTIVES CLASS ON WORLD CHRISTIAN MOVEMENT on Monday, December 7 @ 6:30 PM here at First Baptist. This class is a 15-week course designed around four (4) main vantage points or “perspectives” – Biblical, Historical, Cultural and Strategic. Each one highlights di erent aspects of God’s global purpose. Real-life missionaries share and lead in each class. The class will begin in January 2016 and will meet at the 3 Circles Church.God has a “world-sized” role for every Christian in His global purpose. Whether people go to distant countries or stay at home is a secondary issue. The primary issue is what most people are hungry to discover: vision to live a life of purpose. Discovering that vision makes this course very valuable. Listen to these words from one of our former International Mission Board leaders:“Perspectives provides Southern Baptists and other believers with the nest overview of God’s world-wide work available. I wholeheartedly recommend it for any committed disciple of Jesus.” Dr. Avery Willis, former Senior V.P. , International Mission BoardFor more information on the Perspectives Class visit their website at : www.perspectives.org.
