Dear Church Family,
This Easter is an exciting time for us. We are currently in a Bible Study on Sun-
day evenings entitled ―The Bible: 30 Day Experience‖ that will help us focus our
hearts as Easter approaches. It is not too late to join this Bible Study. On Sunday
mornings we are in the middle of a sermon series ―The Road to the Cross‖ which
I pray helps us concentrate on the life of Christ as we approach Resurrection
Sunday March 27.
The Staff and deacon leadership are also excited about the opportunity we have
this Easter to reach the unchurched with the gospel. In the coming weeks, we will
mail an Easter Service Invitation to every home in a 5 mile radius of the church.
That will reach 10,000 people. We will also go door to door with an invitation to
the 2800 homes in a three mile radius of the church. We are expecting God to do
great things this Easter. In preparation for Easter our Sunday schedule will be
changed for Easter only. Easter Sunday will have 2 services – 9 a.m. and 10:30
a.m.
The music in both services will be identical and will include our Children’s
Choir, the Sanctuary Choir, and Praise Team. I will preach two different Easter
sermons. The reason for the two sermons is because we are asking the choirs and
musicians to be in both services. This means that their family will possibly be in
both services. We do not want to make a bad impression to our guests by having
folks leave after singing in the second service. So I want to change the sermon so
that the musicians, choir, and their family members get something different.
There will be many opportunities for you to serve the Lord before, during, and
after these Easter services. Please pray about being involved in some way. We
need everyone’s help. Listed below are ways you can get involved:
1. Door to Door – There are 2800 homes in a three mile radius. Many are already
signed up to help in this area. We are praying and asking that God will lead
100 people to be committed to this task.
2. Prayer Teams – We need to saturate this ministry with prayer. We are asking
for teams to be praying leading up to Easter. We also will have a prayer ser-
vice in the Fellowship Hall Easter Sunday at 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. These
prayer services will be praying specifically for the worship service that will be
going on at the same time. There will be specific prayer requests such as for
supernatural empowerment, that lives would be changed, that the gospel
would produce fruit, etc. This is set up so that those who go to the 9 a.m. ser-
vice can stay and pray for the 10:30 a.m. service or vice versa.
3. Greeters and Ushers – I am working with some of the deacons to put together a
good plan to accommodate our parking needs and general traffic flow for the
day. We will greatly need folks who will meet people with a smile on their
face and the love of Jesus in their heart.
4. Counseling Ministry – If God blesses us with a great response to the gospel we
will need help talking with those who made a decision.
5. Follow-up Ministries - We will do several different ministries to follow up with
the guest who came and decisions that took place during Easter
