OPENING HYMN “Hosanna, Loud Hosanna” LW # 106 Verses 1 & 3 (5:00pm & 8:00am)
“Shine, Jesus, Shine” (10:30am)
Hosanna, Loud Hosanna
(Verse 1) Hosanna, loud hosanna, The little children sang; Through pillared court and temple The lovely anthem rang. To Jesus, who had blessed them, Close folded to his breast, The children sang their praises, The simplest and the best.
(Verse 3) “Hosanna in the highest!” That ancient song we sing, For Christ is our Redeemer, The Lord of heav’n our King. Oh, may we ever praise him With heart and life and voice And in his blissful presence Eternally rejoice!

INVOCATION
Pastor: In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. People: Amen.
2
CONFESSION AND ABSOLUTION 1 John 1:8; John 3:16; Matthew 5:16
Pastor: As we begin a new Church Year, let us put behind us everything in the past that would disqualify us from a new life, and remembering our Baptism, we boldly petition our Savior Jesus Christ, seeking for our entry into His presence and His plan and future for us, saying, stir up Your power, O Lord, and come,
People: that by Your protection we may be rescued from the threatening perils of our sins and saved by Your mighty deliverance.
Pastor: So you should confess as Holy Scripture says, “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
Do you also repent of all your sins committed in thought, word, and deed? People: I do repent.
Pastor: Do you sincerely believe that God, by grace, for Jesus’ sake, will forgive you all your sins?
People: I do believe.
Pastor: So you should believe as Holy Scripture declares, “God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.”
Do you promise that with the aid of the Holy Spirit you will amend your sinful life? People: I do promise.
Pastor: As you believe, even so may it be to you. Upon this, your confession, I, by virtue of my office, as a called and ordained servant of the Word, announce the grace of God to all of you, and in the stead and by the command of my Lord Jesus Christ I forgive you all your sins in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
People: Amen.
Pastor: Stir up Your power, O Lord, and come, People: that by Your protection we may be rescued from the threatening perils of our
sins and saved by Your mighty deliverance. Amen.
LIGHTING THE ADVENT CANDLE
Pastor: Jesus Christ is the Light of the world, People: the light no darkness can overcome.
Pastor: Let Your light scatter the darkness People: and illumine Your Church.

Trust In You
(Verse 1) Letting go of every single dream I lay each one down at Your feet Every moment of my wondering
Never changes what You see
(Verse 2) I’ve tried to win this war I confess
My hands are weary I need Your rest Mighty warrior, King of the fight
No matter what I face, You're by my side
(Chorus) When You don't move the mountains
I’m needing You to move When You don't part the waters
I wish I could walk through When You don't give the answers
As I cry out to You I will trust I will trust
I will trust in You
(Verse 3) Truth is You know what tomorrow brings
There’s not a day ahead You have not seen So in all things be my life and breath
I want what You want Lord and nothing less
(Repeat Chorus)
(Interlude) I will trust in You
(Bridge) You are my strength and comfort
You are my steady hand You are my firm foundation The Rock on which I stand
Your ways are always higher; Your plans are always good
There's not a place where I’ll go You've not already stood
(Repeat Chorus)
(Ending) I will trust in You I will trust in You I will trust in You

He Reigns
(Verse 1) It’s the song of the redeemed, Rising from the African plain. It’s the song of the forgiven,
Drowning out the Amazon rain. The song of Asian believers Filled with God's holy fire.
It’s every tribe every tongue every nation; A love song born of a grateful choir.
(Chorus)
It’ all God's children singing, “Glory glory hallelujah, He reigns, He reigns.”
It’s all God's children singing “Glory, glory hallelujah, He reigns, He reigns.”
(Verse 2)
Let it rise above the four winds, Caught up in the heavenly sound.
Let praises echo from the towers of cathedrals To the faithful gathered underground.
Of all the songs sung from the dawn of creation, Some were meant to persist.
Of all the bells rung from a thousand steeples, None rings truer than this.
(Repeat Chorus 2 times)
(Bridge)
And all the powers of darkness, Tremble at what they've just heard, ‘Cause all the powers of darkness,
Can't drown out a single word.
(Repeat Chorus 2 times)
