The theologians that I most admire teach the disciplines of noticing and being thankful for God’s blessings in the people and world around us which open our hearts to live with generosity and joy. The Reverend Richard Roessler, the new Episcopal priest, will give the message. Hopefully you will all be able to participate and enjoy! I am thankful for all of you who have come together to worship at 9 AM. I know it is early for many of you. Beginning in January I will begin pastoring and preaching at the Crown Point UMC at 11 AM. You will have the option of coming to either service. God is calling us to be in partnership with Crown Point to reach more people in our communities with Jesus’ message of love and salvation. I am so thankful that God has nudged me to resume painting this year, it fills me with joy! This is a painting I did from a photo I took in Crown Point. May God’s joy fill your heart and life as you share your thanks every day! Peace, Love, and Blessings, Pastor Scott

First United Methodist Church

November has become a month of thankfulness as we remember and celebrate the faith-filled Saints who have come before us, the Veterans who faithfully served to ensure our freedoms, and our families and loved ones. The theologians that I most admire teach the disciplines of noticing and being thankful for God’s blessings in the people and world around us which open our hearts to live with generosity and joy.

I am constantly filled with thankfulness and joy as I serve and minister with all of you. God is doing marvelous things in and through each of us!

As I write, preparations are being made for the Election Day dinner, and this weekend the church will be filled with the scents and flavors of turkey dinner. On Saturday the 23rd the church will be transformed into the wonderland of the Christmas Fair. Immediately following on Sunday the 24th we will celebrate the Ecumenical Thanksgiving Service with the community at the Crown Point Congregational Church at 7 PM.

Peace, Love, and Blessings,Pastor Scott

Now That’s A Bright IdeaTHAT’S A BRIGHT IDEA

Generally, it has been a quiet October here at church. Not much has happened but-----The broken window by the entrance to fellowship hall is due to a bird flying into the window! The bird didn’t make it, but he only broke the outside pane of glass. Jim’s glass has been called. The last time this happen it look several months to get a replacement. Donnie has covered the window on the inside with one of our white panels in case something else happens. As always if you see something that needs attention, contact Donnie, Pastor Scott or myself and we’ll do our best to “get ‘r’ done” or at least put it on the list!

Bill Westervelt, Chair

Ronnie Romano is a music major and Chinese minor in his final year at Middlebury College. He is originally from Bayonne, NJ, and grew up playing the piano. At Middlebury, he sings with the College Choir, plays the piano for the Winter Term Musicals, and music directs for the Middlebury College Musical Players.

Ronnie also served as music director for PTP's 2018 Off-Broadway production of Brecht on Brecht. This year, Ronnie's involvement goes beyond the college — he is the new music director of Wellspring, a Vermont choir that sings for hospice patients and their families.

This summer he had the opportunity to participate in a one-month intensive music program in Paris (EAMA) focusing on composition, counterpoint, analysis, and score reading.

ADDITION CONNECTIONI wish I had a penny for every time someone has asked me: “When are they going to start?”. I could retire (again) I wish I had an answer, and hopefully by the time you read this, you and I will know. I met with our contractor and his sub who will do the actual digging and was led to believe that they would be starting the week of Oct. 21. As you know it didn’t happen and I have had no contact since. Hopefully this will all be old history shortly.

The sub did say at the meeting that it would be too late in the season to pour the walkways. As it now stands it seems to be getting to late to do much of anything. I’m as frustrated as you all are.

If you have any questions, please let Pastor Scott or myself know and we will try to answer or get the answer for you.

StewardshipNovember is the time of year that the church looks to see how we have managed the church’s finances. It is also the time of year that we ask you to Pledge or renew your Pledge. We ask that you prayerfully consider your pledge and return the Pledge cards that will be mailed out later this month. We thank you in advance for your help in returning the cards. Together we can continue to move forward and do great things in Ticonderoga.

Thank you,

Judy Gourley

Thrift Shop NewsFall has been a busy time at the Thrift Shop. Sales have been excellent, and our cashiers have been very busy assisting the customers. Donations continue to abound, and our volunteers have been working hard to get new items out as quickly as possible.

We all know that Winter is just around the corner. We have jackets and coats for sale; sweaters, hats, scarves and gloves are going out each week. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, please ask.

We are looking forward to the upcoming Christmas Fair on November 23. Remember to visit the shop that day. We have so many Christmas items that we have begun putting a few of them out on the shelves.

If you are doing the “thankful” thing again this year:The Thrift Shop Committee is very thankful for all of our volunteers; the shop would not be successful without each and every one of you! Also, thanks to Walter and John Thorne for taking away our cardboard; and to Donnie who takes care of our junk so we don’t have to lug it away.
