Special Called Business Meeting – October 5 at 6:00 pmThe purpose of this meeting is to vote on filling our Youth Ministry Assistant Position. We are creating this position to aid Pastor Martin in our youth ministry as he continues to take on the responsibilities of leading our church plant, South Callaway Community Church. The Pastoral Staff and the Staff Ministry Team recommend John Nielsen to fill this position. John, along with his wife Kathy and their three children, has been a member of our church for several years and currently serves our church as a deacon, a member of our Property and Facilities Ministry Team, and a member of our Security Team. He has worked closely with Pastor Martin in our youth ministry for the last three years. Please come to the meeting to hear from John, find out all of the details about this position, and vote on his filling the position.
The Financial Management Team (FMT) will conduct 2015 budget planning meeting on Tuesday, October 14
beginning at 6:30 pm. Your input as to God’s leading in your ministry will help the team plan appropriately and will enable our church to be good stewards of the resources God has blessed us with.
Our church will once again be hosting a Fall Festival Celebration on October 31st for children in Fulton and Callaway County. There will be games, food and candy. If you would be willing to help please contact Keith Jeffries (573)821-3103, [email protected]. We would appreciate candy donated for the Kids Fest and can be dropped off in the church office.
Identity?At the end of this month children and adults
will put on costumes for the night, in order to be something or someone else. We seek to change our identity. Dressing up as a pirate, princess, cowboy, superhero, or monster, we get to hide for the night. This is all in good fun, but what about the other 364 days where we seek to find our identity in the wrong places. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 Paul writes, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
We must seek to find our identity in Christ. Our belonging is found in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ Jesus. There is a confidence to be gained in this new self. How we identify ourselves shows the world what we value. If we say that we are an athlete, musician, artists, business person, mother, father, child, or anything other than a new creation in Christ, then we mislead those around us who desperately need Jesus. Seek to find your identity in Christ. Read through Romans 12 and discover how to live out your identity.

Dear FBC Members,Thank you for you continued support of Faith Ministry Center. We have had the busiest month I can remember! Please pray for the expectant women currently on our waiting list for housing. We are working hard to provide rent assistance to these women or get them in at another facility so they will not be homeless while we wait for one of our rooms to be available. Please pray that these women continue to choose LIFE, even when we are full & cannot provide immediate housing.
