Affinity Trust (SCORE) Innovative opportunities service for adults with learning disabilities Run by national charity Affinity Trust, SCORE, is based in Hereford and supports adults with a learning disability to have the opportunity to make friends and keep active. We offer community activities such as drama, fitness classes, swimming and photography. We consult with the people we support about new activities, and actively seek out new organisations with which to develop exciting projects.
Affinity Trust supports over 650 people around the UK to live in their own homes and get out into the community as happily and independently as possible.

Age Concern Ross-on-Wye and District Offers a range of services from toenail cutting to Information and Advice. Our aim is to make later life an enjoyable, wealthy and healthy experience as possible, with particular emphases on reducing rural isolation due to the rural nature of our area.

Burial Cloud Burial Cloud provides unique, practical and 100% eco-friendly coffins, hand woven from natural sheep’s wool. All our products are sourced and produced in Herefordshire. Bespoke coloured Clouds are available by arrangement. Clouds are particularly suitable for babies and children, because the feel of being inside one is that of ‘having a big hug’ as quoted by Eira, a green burial site owner from Montgomery. We also offer woven, woollen liners for the more traditional coffin made at our local green burial site, Humber Woodland of Remembrance, near Leominster. .
Community Finance and Enterprise Social Enterprises are businesses that trade for a social and/ or environmental purpose, generating at least 50% of their income from trading by providing goods or services. Profits are principally reinvested back into the business to deliver the business’ social purpose/goals. Community Voluntary Action Ledbury & District CVA provides local services for local people including Ring & Ride – volunteer drivers providing transport throughout the County, Shopmobility – electric scooters, wheelchairs and much more, Community minibuses for use by local people and groups and a wide range of information advice and guidance. Cruse Bereavement Care, Herefordshire Cruse offers somewhere to turn when someone dies. Trained volunteers provide support, information and advice to anyone bereaved by death, usually 1:1 in the client’s home. The organisation also seeks to enhance society’s care of the bereaved.
ECHO for extra choices in Herefordshire Making a real difference to the lives of disabled people in Herefordshire ECHO is a Herefordshire based charity offering opportunities for disabled people to take part in activities in the local community including voluntary work, training, keeping fit, leisure, music, social activities, arts and crafts

EnviroAbility We offer valued work based opportunities for long term unemployed with a special interest in those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our activities include gardening, maintenance of public footpaths, refurbishing church pews, a furniture project, administration, marketing and much more. Halo Leisure At the helm of fitness and leisure in Herefordshire. Halo Leisure provides leisure services for its major partner Herefordshire Council. It has centres in Hereford, Ledbury, Ross, Leominster and Bromyard.
Working with GPs and other health care professionals, Halo also delivers the LIFT referral scheme. LIFT stands for Lifestyle Improvements for Today and is Herefordshire’s Exercise Referral Scheme.
The Haven Since 2004 we have provided emotional and practical support for people who have had a diagnosis of breast cancer (at any time), and also their families. We offer a free programme including counselling, Breast Care Nurse, specialist therapists, support groups and activity groups (more details on our website – address below). Patients can self-refer or be referred by GPs, Consultants, Breast Care Nurses, etc.
Hay & District Community Support An organisation operating on the Herefordshire/Powys border, Hay Community Support does what its name suggests, offers support to individuals and organisations by providing a range of services. These include: Information and office services (photocopying, laminating, etc.) Volunteer recruitment and support Befriending Project Luncheon Club for senior citizens Travellers’ Club providing community outings and short breaks

Herefordshire Carers Support Exists to ensure that carers are universally recognised as fundamental to the communities in which they live and to ensure that there is a balance between their caring responsibilities and their lives outside their role.

Herefordshire Citizens Advice Bureau Herefordshire Citizens Advice Bureau provides free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to everyone on their rights and responsibilities in relation to the following: Welfare Benefits, Finance, Money and Debt, Tax, Employment, Family/Relationships, Immigration, Housing, Consumer Utilities, Education, Health, Travel The bureau is currently running a pilot project with GP surgeries and health professionals to refer patients for advice.
Herefordshire Joint Visiting Team We provide a visiting service for older and vulnerable people who need help with claiming benefits or paying for care services. If you recognise someone with health problems who doesn’t appear to be getting disability benefits, please contact us and we will be happy to arrange a home visit.
Herefordshire Signposting Team 'The award winning Signposting Scheme is all about connecting vulnerable people to services quickly, to improve and help prevent the need for more costly interventions at a later stage. The scheme helps access low level preventative services enabling vulnerable people to live as independently as possible in the community'.
Herefordshire Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre HRSASC offers a range of free, confidential and non-judgemental support services, and is run by women for women over the age of 16 years who have experienced any form of rape or sexual abuse at any time in their lives.
Herefordshire Vision Links HVL is an independent local charity supporting people with sight loss in Herefordshire. Our aim is to provide early help and long term support for the blind and partially sighted community of Herefordshire that can make living with sight loss a little easier. Locally HVL is part of an organisation developing the UK Vision Strategy and implementing a plan locally - 2009 – 2014 for Herefordshire.
Herefordshire Voluntary Organisations Support Service (HVOSS)
HVOSS is a new generalist and specialist organisation to meet the support needs of the voluntary and community sector across Herefordshire. HVOSS will provide support to the combined membership of HVA, The Alliance and HCVYS as well as continuing to develop good working relationships and commissioning arrangements with other organisations that have a role in supporting the sector.
Home-Start Herefordshire Is an independent charity which offers support, friendship and practical help to young families help to families with children 0-19 years of age and who are under stress and finding it hard to cope. What does Home-Start do? Home-Start recruits and trains volunteers, who are all parents themselves, to visit families regularly at their home each week spending 2 to 3 hours with them. Our volunteers are from all walks of life. They provide a listening ear so that parents can talk about their problems and difficulties and explore ways to resolve them. Some families need more practical help which we can offer as well.
Hope Support Services ‘Hope Support Services’ is a Herefordshire-based charity set up to support young people when a close family member is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness. Mediation Herefordshire Established in 1987, Mediation Herefordshire offers a professional mediation service for people separating and divorcing to reach agreements over future arrangements for children, finances and property. Mediation may also be available to resolve other dispute situations within families and communities. Muheza Link Society (Tanzania) Links between Herefordshire and The Muheza Hospital in north-eastern Tanzania began in 1985, and have continued and strengthened each year.The Hereford - Muheza Link Society is now a registered membership charity. The four main activities are sending shipping with donated goods, arranging educational visits, assisting with education at Muheza, and by providing administrative help for Muheza Hospice Care.

Services for Independent Living Services for Independent Living (SIL) is a user led organisation providing services that enable disabled and older people to live independent lives in their own homes within their own community. We provide a ‘3 star excellent’ rated home support agency for people who want a personalised, consistent service and prefer to select their own team of staff who are also supported by a Team Co-ordinator. We also have a Direct Payments Support Service (DPSS) which provides comprehensive support, information and advice to disabled employers who employ their own personal assistants.
