In this book we’re going to learn about some fun, cool ways to stay fit! What is being fit? Fit is being happy and healthy while exercising and being safe. This book has tons of fun sports and exercises that help us stay fit. So make sure you stretch your brain and get ready to learn about these fun activities!

Stretching is what we do before we exercise. Warming-up gets our body ready and “warmed up” so that we are ready to play sports. Stretching makes sure that we don’t hurt any of our mus-cles while we are exercising.

Dancing is super fun way to stay active. Plug in your favorite music and let your body do the rest! You can do some classic moves like Disco or do some creative hip hop break dancing. You can even do line dances, which are dances that everyone can do together. Just find some music that gets you rocking, and start moving!

Brain Breaks are an awesome way to stay active in school and take a little break from your school work. All you have to do is watch the screen and do what the people on the screen do. (It’s kind of like Simon Says) It’s like dancing with a guide!

Running and walking are great ways to exercise! You can take a walk in the park or go run through the woods! Even taking your dog on a walk counts. Try competing with your friends in a fast-paced race or gather your family and take a walk with them.

Swimming is fun exercise that is great to do in the summer when you need to cool off! Before you jump in, make sure that there is a parent or lifeguard that can see you. Never try to go to a place that is too deep for you. When you are swimming, try and see if you can float on your back or swim like a mermaid. Jump in and make a splash!

Basketball is a fun game that you can play by yourself or with tons of friends! You can dribble the ball and try and shoot it into the hoop. If you make it in the hoop, you score a point! Play against your friends or see how many times you can make a bas-ket in a row!

Have you ever been hiking? Hiking is taking a walk in the woods, park, mountains or anywhere else in nature. It is a great way to get some fresh air and explore the nature around you. To make it even more fun, pack a lunch and have a picnic wherever you hike to!

Frisbee is a game you can play with a big group of people or even with your dog! Just grab the fris-bee disc, curl your hand and wrist around it, and let it fly! See how far you can make it go or see if you can throw it to your partner.

Kickball is really fun team game! There are four bases. A pitcher rolls the ball towards the person who is up to kick. The person kicks the ball and tries to run to the bases without getting tagged by the ball. Try and make it to home base without getting tagged to score a point for your team!

Parachutes are large, round pieces of material that can be super fun to play with. Everyone gathers around the parachute and grabs a handle with both hands. Everyone then waves the para-chute around. To make it extra fun, throw a few beach balls into the middle and see how long you can keep them from falling out.

Snowboarding, water skiing, rock climbing, and skateboarding are all extreme sports. People can do cool tricks and flips. Some people even do competitions to see who can do the coolest trick. If you ever try extreme sports, make sure you are wearing a hel-met and have some supervising you.
