QUALIFICATION

CONCEPT
To provide NFs/ NOCswith an additional
opportunity to clinch qualification berths for
the 2012 Olympic Games, apart from the
Continental Beach Volleyball Cup Final and World Ranking.
Played by the 2nd and 3rd ranked countries
from each Continental Beach Volleyball Cup
Final. This tournament will qualify 2 places per
gender to the 2012 Olympic Games in
London.
Any athlete that has qualified quota place for its country to the
2012 Olympic Games in London through the
World Ranking will not be allowed to enter to
the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Cup Olympic Qualification
tournament.
COMPETITION FORMAT
NOCs/ NFs are always competing with two teams per gender per country in a Country vs. Country
format and in a "best out of five matches".
In case of tie, one decisive match or as an alternative a Golden Set until 15 points
(with a 2 point lead) can be played by the registered
athletes designated by each country.
10 (ten) or 12 (twelve) countries participating will play
in 2 pools (A and B) of 5 or 6 countries according to a round
robin system. The best 2 countries of the 2 (two) pools will play against each other as
follows: A1 vs. B2 and A2 vs. B1. The country of the winning
teams of these matches (3 out of 5 match format) will qualify directly to the Olympic Games.
If the organizing country is not qualified to this phase, it will
have the right to take part with 2 (two) teams per gender. In
the case of 12 (twelve) participating countries, the 12th and the last country
participating shall be allocated by the FIVB from outside the host country’s Confederation.
ORGANIZERS BENEFITS:
• Two (2) countries/ Olympic Places per gender to be qualified to the 2012 Olympic Games in London
TEAM PARTICIPATION
• The FIVB will supply to the Organizers, through its exclusive ball supplier MIKASA, a sufficient number of balls VLS-300, nets and antennas
OFFICIAL BALL, NETS & ANTENNAS
• MIKASA will supply uniforms for Player’s (Men and Women tops), Staff and Officials.UNIFORMS
• The FIVB will provide the medals for the athletes of the countries ranked 1st, 2nd and 3rd and trophies to the four (4) winners.
AWARDS
• The FIVB will approve a promotional plan (as per the FIVB requirements) which must be agreed by all parties and implemented by the Organizers.
PROMOTION
• Exploitation of the event title: TITLE SPONSOR (if released by the FIVB) FIVB Beach Volleyball World Cup Olympic Qualification presented by PRESENTING SPONSOR (if released by the FIVB).
• All Marketing rights except the FIVB sponsors and except Mikasa`s participation (3 banners on centercourt)
• The exploitation of the Visual and Marketing Kit conceived by the FIVB.
• 100% of private and government contributions and subsidies
• 100% of ticketing
• 100% of sales of official programs
• 100% of the sales of hospitality packages
• Worldwide media exposure guaranteed through the FIVB website and FIVB publications
• Exclusive rights to appoint local sponsors in accordance with FIVB conditions
• The exclusive right to sell on site commercial affiliates’ merchandising
• The right to use the FIVB brand marks in the promotion of the event.
COMMERCIALIZATION RIGHTS
ORGANIZERS BENEFITS:
•100% of the TV broadcasting, internet and new media (live and/or delayed) rights can be exploited in their territory of the event.
BROADCASTING RIGHTS/ COVERAGE
•The FIVB will consider the possibility to realize and distribute worldwide a dedicated TV highlight program (in one or more episodes) featuring the events
TV HIGHLIGHT PROGRAM
•The FIVB will assign the following officials to smoothly conduct events with the Organizers: Technical Supervisor, Referee Delegate, Press Delegate, Medical Delegate, International Referees , FIVB Photographer, English TV Commentator
FIVBOFFICIALS/DELEGATES
ORGANIZERS BENEFITS:
• The FIVB will pay a per diem to the FIVB Technical Supervisor, Referee Delegate, International Referees, Physiotherapist (if any), Medical Delegate (if any) Press Delegate and Photographer, as per FIVB Financial Regulations.
FEE FOR OFFICIAL/DELEGATES
• The FIVB will conduct two inspection visits as follows: one at least 1 year prior to the event and one 2/3 months prior the event. These inspection visits will be carried out by 2 FIVB officials, who will receive a per diem from the FIVB as per FIVB Financial Regulations.
INSPECTION VISIT
• The FIVB in collaboration with its TV Agency will be responsible for the satellite uplink. The FIVB will also bear all up-link costs.
SATELLITE UPLINK COSTS
• The FIVB will provide free of charge the BVIS software to run the competitions.
FIVB INFORMATION SYSTEM
ORGANIZERS BENEFITS:
THE ORGANIZERS ARE REQUIRED THE FOLLOWING:
•Minimum 3000 seats, possibly including a 500-seat roofed area for VIP`s Media, delegations, sponsors, authorities and officials.
STADIUM CAPACITY
•To set up facilities based on the latest Beach Volleyball Handbook (including office space, players` lounge, rooms for the officials, meeting rooms, medical services and medical controls).
FACILITIES
•To set-up up to 4 competition courts, possibly all close to each other and with the same orientation plus 2 warm up courts with a different orientation (as per the FIVB regulations) equipped with FIVB materials as per FIVB Rules of the Game.
COURTS AND EQUIPMENTS
• Prize Money is recommended.PRIZE
MONEY
• The Organizers are required to use the Title sponsor as follows: “TITLE SPONSOR (if not released by the FIVB) – FIVB BEACH VOLLEYBALL WORLD CUP OLYMPIC QUALIFICATION presented by PRESENTING SPONSOR (if released by the FIVB)” in advertising and in all publicity activities including official programs, posters, broadcast titles, tickets, etc. The Title sponsor might be also negotiated with the FIVB. The title may be subject to modification leading towards the signature of the FIVB-Organizers agreement.
EVENT TITLE
THE ORGANIZERS ARE REQUIRED THE FOLLOWING:
• Title and Presenting Sponsor (Categories exclusivity - TBD)
• Balls – Exclusive for Mikasa
• Nets & antennas - Exclusive for Mikasa
• Merchandising associated to the FIVB sponsors products, services - any sort of exploitation in exclusivity on the worldwide territory of the Official merchandising associated to the FIVB marks (official uniforms/ or official product line)
• Timing Services: watches, clocks, timepieces, scoreboards, speed devices, time keeping devices, jewels, access equipment and services.
• Sportswear: Exclusive official sportswear supplier for athletes (tops), FIVB Delegates, referees, line judges and Scorers, court personnel and staff reserved for Mikasa. Sandals are an exclusive product of the FIVB.
• Internet & Mobile services rights - Exclusive right for Internet/web rights, mobile rights, interactive rights and streaming rights of the FIVB properties etc.
MARKETING & COMMERCIALIZATION
RIGHTS

THE ORGANIZERS ARE REQUIRED THE FOLLOWING:
All remaining sponsors’ categories can be exploited by the Organizers.
• The Organizers are required to set-up a full time organizing staff as per FIVB regulations at least 1 year prior to the event, and to provide the organizing staff for the event.
ORGANIZATIONAL CHART
• The Organizers are required to pay all international transportation costs for all FIVB officials.
• The Organizers are to cover the costs of local transportation for all participants, including FIVBofficials from and to the nearest international airport, and between the official hotel(s) and the venue.
TRANSPORTATION
• The Organizers are to cover the costs for all participating women’s and men’s teams
BOARD & LODGING
THE ORGANIZERS ARE REQUIRED THE FOLLOWING:
•The Organizers will retain exclusivity of the domestic TV Broadcast rights for their territories and are required to secure upon signature of the FIVB-Organizers agreement, an HBthrough a Host TV Broadcaster Agreement in accordance with the FIVB TV requirements.
PROCEDURE
•The HB shall commit to a minimum requirement to broadcast 10 matches on the centre court every day of the event.
•HB will broadcast live or delayed the semi final and final games per gender or a minimum of 4 matches per gender to be agreed by the parties.
•The HB shall supply a first class, top-quality in High Definition format 16:9 colour signal with a minimum of 8 TV cameras
•All costs related to the TV production of the live feed, editing, and to the master tapes must be borne by the Host Broadcaster or the Organizers.
MINIMUM PRODUCTION &
BROADCASTING REQUIREMENTS
THE ORGANIZERS ARE REQUIRED THE FOLLOWING:
• The delivery of the International feed must be made available to the FIVB, free of charge without any domestic content and English Commentary.
• The HTVB shall provide, at its sole cost, the SNG truck on site (for each day of the event) and the HTVB will: pencil such SNG 6 weeks prior to the even and confirm the SNG 3 weeks prior to the event
• The Organizers are to do its utmost (if the Host Broadcaster offers preferential prices for 20’’ and 30’’ Commercials) to offer to the FIVB sponsors the same rate card by July 2011;
MINIMUM PRODUCTION &
BROADCASTING REQUIREMENTS
THE ORGANIZERS ARE REQUIRED THE FOLLOWING:
• If a TV Inspection visit is deemed necessary by the FIVB, it must be scheduled between six (6) to three (3) months before the event. The TV Inspection must be held with the following participants: TV Coordinator, Organizers, Host Broadcaster and/or Producer, Representative or Technical Producer or Facilities Company to discuss and confirm the details concerning the minimum TV production and broadcasting requirements, as well as any eventual special requests of the International TV takers.
• All pertaining costs (international travel, accommodation and meals) shall be covered by the Organizers.
INSPECTION VISIT &
MEETINGS
THE ORGANIZERS ARE REQUIRED THE FOLLOWING:
• A Press and Promotional plan, including press conferences, constant release of news, dedicated Web site, invitation of journalists, promotional and advertising campaigns, etc., must be developed by the Organizers
PRESS –PROMOTION
• The Organizers are required to organize entertainment programs at the venue and side events where everybody can enjoy facilities for dining, listening to music or dancing in areas close to the competition courts.
ENTERTAINMENT
• The Organizers are required to provide first class catering services and areas for VIPs, sponsors, etc. throughout the entire event.
CATERING
THE ORGANIZERS ARE REQUIRED THE FOLLOWING:
• The Organizers are required to ensure the availability of an appropriate hardware and an Internet connection. The Organizers must also distribute on-site the Daily Bulletin to the parties concerned.
BEACH VOLLEYBALL
INFORMATION SYSTEM (BVIS)
• The Organizers are to pay to the FIVB a licensee fee for the commercialization rights in accordance with the level of such rights granted and negotiated with the FIVB. It is mandatory to propose a license fee when sending a complete candidature to the FIVB.

•Financial Guarantee / advance payment of the Prize Money (if any) and/or License fee (if requested by the FIVB)
