Five Star High School Fire Science Academy Opens in August 2017
• Academy is a collaboration between Lone Star College-Kingwood and its five
service area independent school districts. Interested students should confirm
ISD participation with their school officials.
• Academy provides 25 students per cohort with opportunity to complete the
LSC Basic Structural Firefighter Certificate Level while in high school and be
prepared to sit for the state firefighter examination.
• The Academy is completed during the junior and senior years of high school.
• Students complete the academy on the LSC-Kingwood campus and at LSC-K
sanctioned fire training facilities.
• Courses count for both high school and college credit.

1. Form available on LSC-K fire science informational website and is only for students in the following ISDs: Cleveland, Humble, New Caney, Splendora, and Tarkington.
2. Admission forms that are not filled out completely and/or that do not have accompanying documents turned in to school will not be considered. Admission documents to be turned in to the school include:

3. Additional documentation is required once admitted into the Fire Academy and prior to the start of each academic year:
