Yamada's Flapper Pump is designed to support passage of solids up to 30 mm in diameter. Designed for durabilityin the field, the Flapper's innovative flap-type check valvetechnology provides streaming passage of solids whileminimizing clogging and downtime. Four external boltsrelease valve covers on either side permitting service andmaintenance without removing the pump from installation.

■Principle of OperationCompressed air enters the left air chamber,moving the center rodto the left, forcing liquidout of the left liquidchamber, while at thesame t ime drawingliquid into the rightliquid chamber.When the center rodis fully to the left thepneumatic logic systemswitches the supply of
air from the left airchamber to the rightair chamber. The center rod then moves to theright, forcing out theliquid from the rightliquid chamber, whileat the same time drawingliquid into the left liquidchamber. Through ofthis action a constant flow of liquid is achieved.

■Performance curveThe performance curve shownindicates the data measured withfresh water (viscosity 1mPa・s,specific gravity 1.0) by dip grazing.The amount of liquid dischargedfrom the pump greatly variesdepending on various factors suchas the "viscosity, specific gravity and slurry concentration of liquidto be transferred", "suction lift","discharge head" and "pneumatictransportation distance".
