ANNUAL CRAYFISH PARTY - AUGUST 20, 2011
The Young Professionals hosted yet another super fun Crayfish Party at the Sheridan Shore Yacht Club in Wilmette on
August 20. Sixty guests enjoyed cocktails and appetizers on the deck, overlooking the picturesque harbor. Mia Berg-
man, President of SACC Chicago, welcomed us and the guests sat down and got to taste this year’s crayfish, flown in
from California. Everyone enjoyed the wonderful buffet table, catered by Wikstrom Specialty Foods, Elegante Cuisine
and Seafood Merchants.
Olle Röstlund, VP of Young Professionals, led the snaps sing-a-long. In-between his chosen songs, the guests at each
table competed in singing on their own. We were pleased to hand out fabulous raffle prizes sponsored by various
companies and members listed on the next page. David Anthonsen was the lucky winner of a great food basket donated
by Wikstrom Specailty Foods. We thank Hanselsbanken for sponsoring the DJ from Mount Greenwood Sound!
A Big Thank You to all generous sponsors! Without you we could’t have done it. We all enjoyed the evening, another
fun Crayfish Party at the charming Sheridan Shore Yacht Club. Make sure you don't miss the Crayfish Party next year!
And please check out the photos from the event at our web site as well as on our Facebook profile.

Thank You Kerstin!
“Ex officio representation is always established for a reason, but how it plays out depends in the individual. As usual with Kerstin, she’s consistently gone well beyond the call in making Swedish-related organizations in Chicago-land coor-dinate and work well together. We are grateful to Kerstin for her contributions to SACC Chicago and wish her all the best in her next endeavors. We will miss her greatly!” Gerd Sjögren, SACC Chicago board member and Director Business Partners, Interverbum Technology
On June 13, Kerstin Lane sent us her resignation from the SACC Chicago board as an honorary board member. In this role, Kerstin has served on the board since 2003, when the King of Sweden ap-pointed her as the Honorary Consul General of Illinois. We’re tremendously grateful for Kerstin’s support of our chamber and her dedication to all things Swedish-American. Kerstin has been an in-spiration to many within Chicago's Swedish community for years. She was the founding Executive Director of the Swedish American Museum in Chicago and it’s first paid employee in 1988. She worked at the museum until her retirement in 2006. In 1981, Kerstin founded SVEA-Chicago, be-came SWEA International’s Woman of the Year 1999, received the Serafimerordern from King Carl XVI Gustaf in 2007, and this year, Kerstin was named The Swedish-American of the Year by the Vasa Order. In addition, she has been instrumental for a number of other Swedish-American organiza-tions, including the Gothenburg Sister City Committee, to which she was appointed by Mayor Daley
in 1990 and stayed for six years.
Kerstin has all the “right connections” and can with a snap of a finger move mountains and get great things done. We “secretly” hope that Kerstin might consider returning to the board in a different capacity…. Regardless, we want to thank Kerstin for the wonderful support of the chamber and we wish her all the best in her new endeavors! On behalf of SACC Chicago — Agneta Rosenberg, SACC Chicago VP of Communications and board member and President of Interim Ventures
