Fiber Fusion Northwest Fleece & Wool Show Entry Information and Rules

This show is governed by the rules set forth in this document. All exhibitors are responsible for reviewing and abiding by these rules as well as the rules specific to each particular breed of fiber animal.

Entry form: The Fleece Show Entry Form must be postmarked or completed on-line on or before Oct 11, 2017. Entry fee: Entry fee is $6 each for 1 - 2 fleeces entered, OR $4 per fleece for 3 or more fleece entries.

There is a limit of 3 entries per owner, per Color Group, per Breed Group, per Age Group.

Exhibitors must enter fleece in a fresh clear plastic bag. The Fleece Entry Tag must be filled out and placed inside the bag with the fleece and it must be visible. Please have all information except the Entry # filled out on each tag before you come to check in. You will receive your entry #(s) at check in. The Fleece Entry Tags can be found on the Fiber Fusion Northwest website (www.fiberfusion.net) and on pages 12 -19 of this document (arranged alphabetically according to fleece type). Fleece Drop Off and Pick Up: Fleeces may be mailed, dropped off at a designated collection site, or delivered directly to the show the evening

prior to the event. MAIL IN - If not attending Fiber Fusion Northwest, fleeces may be mailed to Megan Burleson, 2310 Hoyt

Ave., Everett, WA 98201. Fleeces must arrive prior to October 18, 2017. Entries MUST be accompanied by a pre-paid, pre-addressed, return label from either FEDEX or UPS, and will be returned in the same box sent. We will be unable to return ribbons and fleece without this label, and those fleeces will be donated. For mail in or remote drop off, place ENTIRE REGISTRATION PACKET in your fleece bags.

SHOW SITE CHECK-IN – You may drop off your fleece at the show site on the evening of Friday, October 20, 2017, between the hours of 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm. If you cannot make the 7 pm deadline, you must make prior arrangement with the Superintendent.

REMOTE DROP OFF - The following are designated as collection sites. Make arrangements directly with drop off site contact person. Place ENTIRE REGISTRATION PACKET in your fleece bags when dropping off.

Fleeces may be picked up at the show site after 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 22, 2017. At such time the PICK

UP RECEIPT must be surrendered and matched to the fleece bag tag. You may also make arrangements to recover your fleece at one of the designated drop off sites. Mail-in fleece will be returned using the return label. PLEASE NOTE: We will take care of your fleece within reason, but we are not responsible for loss or damage.

Color Groups: To determine correct color designation, look at the cut end of the fleece. Color Groups for this Fleece Show are as follows:

Light: - hue of the overall blanket fleece is light colored, or white based (based on a mid-side fleece view where the sample is beige or lighter.)

Medium: - hue of the overall blanket fleece is medium colored, or fawn based (based on a mid-side fleece view where the sample is light brown or lighter, light fawn or darker)

Dark: - hue of the overall blanket fleece is dark or brown/black based (based on a mid-side fleece view where the sample is black or lighter, medium brown or darker.)

Grey/Variegated: - hue of the overall blanket fleece is grey colored or variegated (based on a mid-side fleece view where the sample matches any grey or a mix of colors that does not match any single color.

Groups: Shall be Huacaya and Suri.

Age Groups are as follows: Weanling: Age 6 months to 12 months Yearling: Age 12 months to 24 months Prime: Age 24 months to 36 months Mature: Age 36 months +

All classes will be organized by Breed, Color Group and Age. Gender is not considered in Fleece Show classes.

Fleece Class Rules Fiber length is measured in its relaxed (crimpy) and must be no shorter than 1.25 inches (32mm) in length. 1st clip fleeces are classified as “Kid”. All subsequent clips should be entered in the appropriate “Adult” class. If a fleece is disqualified, the reason for disqualification shall be recorded on the scorecard and the judge’s

worksheet. The judge is allowed to move the fleece to the appropriate class if it has been entered into the incorrect class. Cashmere will be judged on breed standards with an emphasis on the following:
