HITOMI GILLIAM, AIFDFloral Trends Forecast 20l l has been prepared by Hitomi Gilliam, AIFD,
Director of Education for Design358. A master floral artist who has unique
talents to interpret world trends and human emotions, in this forecast
Hitomi articulates new event trends in a breathtaking artistic expression of
flowers. Hitomi has been a featured designer at the American Institute of
Floral Design’s National Symposium seven times. In 20l l Hitomi will host the
Annual Trend Summit Conference along with Kevin Yivisaker, AIFD and the
20l l European Masters Certification Program with Tomas DeBruyne.

Kesler, AIFD. With his wife Leanne, David is the co-owner of Floral Design
Institute, Inc, a leading floral design education firm with locations in Portland,
Oregon and Seattle, Washington. David’s photography work has graced every
edition of the Floral Trends Forecast creating magic on paper and bringing
Hitomi’s creations to life. David is an active speaker and educator in the floral
industry and is the past General Manager of the Canadian Division of Teleflora.

FANDANGOAs in Dancing with the Stars, Fandango builds slowly and
climaxes in an electric powerful finish. The passionate moves of
this Spanish and Portuguese dance convey hot, steamy romance
– portrayed by color harmonies which include red, burgundy,
fuchsia and hot pinks. Inclusion of coral will take this
combination up another notch. Containers and accessories of
clear glass, colored glass, metallics and gems, used along with
LED lights add glitz and
glamour. Fandango reflects

A meditative quiet, full of serenity and clarity. Nirvana exudes
a greater sense of inner self and peace of mind prevails. A
soothing color palette of pure white, cool blues, sprout green
and mystical violet prevails. Containers should have clean
lines and modern crisp shapes using glass, pottery, lacquer ware,
cast iron, bamboo or woven baskets. Asian style containers and
some ethnic motif may be introduced for authenticity.

GAZPACHOGazpacho reflects the colors of the Spanish soup and all of its
earthy vegetables and rich flavor. The recipe calls for tomatoes,
cucumbers, red peppers, parsley, garlic and basil. And to this
mix, we add herbaceous flowers and greens to match. The color
palette features fresh green, sprout green, tomato red, carrot
orange, gold, plum and wine. Earthy glass and pottery along with
woven baskets and colourful linens provides an exquisite and
rich texture to the theme.
