Follow installation and alignment procedures No piping loads on pump flanges Suction piping to pump must be in accordance with IOM recommendations Ensure proper rotation prior to initial start-up Operate pump on the pump performance curve. Avoid running at either end of the
pump curve for prolonged periods Operate pump within temperature and pressure limits of the pump Monitor pump operation. Investigate high temperatures or vibration problems. Liquids pumped should be clean without solids

Bearing Start‐up and Replacement – Grease Lubrication
• MSL, MSM, & MSC (Excludes 125 & 150)• The bearings will run hot for a day or so at
first start‐up or after re‐greasing• Normal operating temperature is
approximately 190º F• Roller bearings need to be re‐lubricated at
intervals specified in the IOM for each pump• The grease should be a lithium soap based
high temperature grease such a SKF LGHP2• “DO NOT MIX GREASES”
• Bearing should be heated prior to installation on shaft sleeve.

• MSH and MSL/M 125 & 150 only• New pumps are shipped from the factory without
oil in the bearing housing.
• Bearing housing must be filled with the appropriate type of oil, per the IOM, prior to starting
