Pulp and Paper

Throughout the years, FMC Technologies has been recognized as an experienced provider of solutions for bulk material handling needs in the Pulp and Paper industry. Our extensive experience in this industry, allows for a smooth handling of logs, wood chips, and bark, while also assuring economical productivity, reliability, and optimum performance within the wood yards, wood rooms, and chip storage facilities.

Our feeders, conveyors, stackers, elevators, screens, and various related equipment perform important functions in the handling and processing of wood logs, wood chips, hog fuel, straw, pulp, and other materials, as well as, for handling finished paper rolls and other fiber products. FMC Technologies serves the requirements of this important industry through the stages of creative application, design, manufacture, and complete erection.

Power

One of FMC Technologies most widespread areas of expertise is the design and supply of bulk material handling systems for the power industry. Our systems convey and process fuels such as coal, coke, wood chips, waste, and other materials such as limestone and gypsum.

Mining

Material handling is a major aspect of metal mining operations. Material handling equipment is required for crushing, grinding, transportation from the mine to the processing plant, sintering, pelletizing, concentrating, stockpiling, reclaiming, stripping and disposing of overburden, screening, and also removing refuse or tailings from spoil areas.

To serve the metal mining industries both ferrous and non-ferrous, FMC Technologies manufactures and provides a complete line of material handling equipment and many related processing units. FMC Technologies’ petroleum coke handling systems significantly reduce operation costs by providing solutions that increase production rates utilizing the most advanced techniques.

FMC Technologies provides cost-effective bulk material handling systems that will deliver exceptional results, optimize performance, and maximize profits.

FMC Technologies was selected to design and supply Coal, Limestone, and Gypsum Handling Systems at Cliffside.

The Coal Handling System will consist of: four belt feeders, two belt conveyors, two belt tripper conveyors, two belt scales, as well as, dust collection and suppression systems.

The Limestone Handling System will be comprised of, but not limited to: one rail car unloading building, one bottom discharge rail car system, two belt feeders, one 48” wide conveyor, and several other pieces of equipment.

The Gypsum Handling System will consist of: two emergency dump motorized diverter gates, one collecting conveyor, one stockout conveyor, and one belt scale.

Allen Steam Station | Belmont, NC

FMC Technologies was recently selected to design, supply, and install both the Limestone and Gypsum Handling Systems at the Kyger Creek power plant.

The Limestone Handling System consists of a receiving hopper, vibrating feeder, stackout conveyor, reclaim draw down hoppers and conveyor, vibrating feeder, and several other pieces of equipment.

The Gypsum Handling System is comprised of, but not limited to, an overland conveyor, waste cake handling conveyor, transfer conveyors, transfer structure, belt plow, emergency stackout conveyor, diverter gates, and an enclosed gypsum collecting station.

The scope of work for the Allen Steam project was to design and supply both the Limestone and Gypsum Handling Systems.

The Limestone Handling System consisted of two belt feeders, belt conveyor, unloading hopper and belt conveyor, stackout belt conveyor, unloading/stackout transfer tower, telescopic chute, reclaim feeder, and various equipment.

The Gypsum Handling System consisted of the design and supply of the following: two gypsum belt filter flop gates, collection belt conveyor, transfer belt scale, transfer tower, radial stacker, and a telescopic chute.

FMC Technologies was chosen to design, supply, and install the Limestone and Gypsum Handling Systems at Brunner Island.

The Limestone Handling System consists of unloading belt feeders, unloading stackout conveyor, telescopic chute, vibrating pan feeders, reclaim hoppers, reclaim conveyor, silo fil l conveyor, and other components.

The Gypsum Handling System consists of two transfer conveyors, three belt filter discharge flop gates, and a PLC based control system.

FMC Technologies designed, supplied, and installed both the Limestone and Gypsum Handling Systems at Mountaineer.

The Limestone Handling System consisted of a barge unloading facility, reclaim feeders, reclaim conveyor, unloading feeder and conveyor, transfer tower, and many other components.

The Gypsum Handling System consisted of five overland conveyors, unloading facility, unloading belt feeder and conveyor, telescoping discharge chutes, transfer towers, transfer tripper conveyor, belt scales, dry fog dust suppression, and several other components.

FMC Technologies designed, supplied, and installed the PRB Coal Handling System at the Indian River Generating Station.

The new Coal Handling System was supplied for a new stackout and reclaim system and interfaces with existing coal handling equipment.

Components of the new system included a diverter gate, transfer towers, belt conveyors, radial stacker, reclaim hoppers, and vibrating feeders.

FMC Technologies designed and supplied the PRB Coal Handling System, as well as, the Pebble Lime Handling System at Arizona’s Springerville Unit 3 power plant.

The PRB Coal Handling System consisted of belt conveyors, reclaim chain feeders, transfer towers, telescoping chute, crusher building, radial stacker, bridge-type reclaimer, dust collection and suppression systems.

The Pebble Lime Handling System included a rail car unloading building, side car discharger, drag chain conveyors, support towers, transfer screw conveyors, as well as, PLC and CCTV systems.

FMC Technologies designed and supplied the coal handling system at the Millmerran plant.

This coal handling system consisted of a total of eleven belt conveyors with capacities ranging from 750-1,500 MTPH and one 1,500 MTPH overland belt conveyor at a traveling distance of approximately one mile long.

This system also incorporated transfer towers, belt feeders, belt trippers, emergency reclaim hopper, traveling stacker, portal reclaimer, belt scales, dust collection system, and a vibrating feeder.

FMC Technologies designed and supplied the Coal Handling System for the Meizhou Wan power plant.

The Coal Handling System included coal receiving, storage, and reclaim conveyors; transfer towers, bucket wheel stacker-reclaimer, and belt trippers.

This system also included vital equipment such as: two sample systems, fire protection, ventilation, dust collection and suppression systems, motor control center, transformers, switchgear, as well as, electrical control buildings.

The scope of work for the Quezon Power project included the design and supply of the coal handling system.

The coal handling system included coal receiving, storing, and reclaiming conveyors.

Some components of this system are eight belt conveyors, three transfer towers, crusher building, bucket wheel stacker-reclaimer with traveling tripper, which is used to form two longitudinal coal storage piles with a capacity of 200,000 MT.

Construction & Field ServicesFMC Technologies offers complete supervision and monitoring of equipment installation from delivery through start-up and commissioning on all of our product lines.

Our experienced field engineers provide on-site, comprehensive instructions to system installers, to ensure a smooth installation. Hands-on training is also offered for operating and maintenance personnel. All construction work is performed by highly-qualified, customer-approved subcontractors.

Our field representatives are available to offer a full range of field services including site analysis and equipment inspections to ensure peak performance of your equipment, whether it was supplied by FMC Technologies, or by others. Recommendations can be made for upgrading or improving performance of more mature facilities.
