    IMAGE SPECIFICATIONS

    These image specifications are the minimum requirement for images to be accepted and printed across leading Australian retailers. When submitting an image for SKUlibrary, these specifications must be met in order for print. The image resolution, pixel and print dimensions refer to the longest edge of the product within the canvas.

    • Files named as product barcode (e.g. barcode-1.tif, barcode-2.tif)

    • Minimum image resolution: 300 dpi

    • Minimum pixel dimensions: 3550 x 3550

    • Minimum print dimensions: 300mm (longest edge)

    • File type: psd, tiff, eps, png or first generation jpeg.

    • No sharpening applied to the image

    • Clipping path provided named “Path 1”

    • Colour space must be RGB

    • Preferred colour profile: Adobe RGB(1998)

    If these specifications can not be met, a sample can be sent to SKUvantage to ensure the photography quality will be consistent and accepted by leading Australian retailers. Refer to page 9 - 10 of this document for sample guidelines and studio details.

    Longest edge of product must be a minimum of

    ANGLE SPECIFICATIONS

    Photographic 2D Angle

    All products must be supplied with a 2D angle. The depth of the product is not seen, a 2D angle shows only the height and width of the product.

    • Front-on • No side, top or bottom of product visible • Square both horizontally & vertically

    Photographic 3D Angle

    Most products benefit from a 3D angle. The height, width and depth of a product is shown in a 3D angle. The following guidelines must be followed for consistency purposes.

    • Angle facing right, showing depth on left • No bottom or right side of product visible • Square both horizontally & vertically

    ANGLE EXAMPLES

    Standard FMCG images include 3D angle, 2D front, back image and all sides of the pack.

    • 3D & 2D images are edited with clipping paths & are catalogue ready • Deliver images of all sides of the pack to allow consumers to zoom in & read product information. These are also used for planogram • Styled out-of-pack images form part of the catalogue range

    Boxes & Bags • Elevated camera angle to expose the top edge of the product • Left corner of the product sits forward with the vertical edge

    maintaining a 90º degree upright position • Bottom edge of product sits on a 4 degree angle to the horizontal

    3D SPECIFICATIONS - ROUND

    Round Jars, Cans or Bottles • Tilted forward to show depth and the top of product. The tilted angle

    should be 10% of the width of the product • The vertical axis of the product is aligned to the edge of the canvas

    Cartons

    When the branding element is placed on the lid, follow guidelines below. Alternatively box or round 3D specifications can be followed.

    • Tilted forward so that either one third of the image contains the top of the lid or two thirds of image contains the top of the lid

    • No sides visible • The vertical axis of the product is aligned to the edge of the canvas

    IMAGE QUALITY - WHITE & BLACK POINTS

    White & Back Points

    There must be a medium contrast range setting to ensure that the product does not bleed in the dark areas or blow out in the light areas. The darkest point of the product must not be below 15/15/15 RGB value, the whitest point of the product must not be above 240/240/240 RGB value. Maximum RGB value

    of black point

    R: 15 G: 15 B: 15

    Minimum RGB value of white point

    R: 240 G: 240 B: 240

    IMAGE QUALITY - LIGHTING & PACKAGING

    Clean Packaging - Product must be free from dust, creases, scuff marks and any imperfections.

    Clear Image - All points of the photograph must be in focus. Text and branding on the packaging must be readable.

    Reflections - Lighting should present a clear, crisp and descriptive product with clean and defined edges.

    Highlights - Highlights must be managed to a minimum and not obscure product branding or text in any areas

    Lighting Glow - Light glow from too much back light or lighting from below will not be accepted

    SAMPLE GUIDELINES

    If image guidelines cannot be met, a sample of the product can be sent to SKUvantage for full data capture and photography. Products sent to SKUvantage must arrive fit for photography. To assist us in producing the best possible result a duplicate of each product can be sent. If a product arrives unfit for photography a replacement sample will be requested or extra charges for post production editing may be incurred.

    Reasons for sample rejection • Torn packaging or crooked label • Crushed, dents or damage to packaging or product • Scratches or scuff marks • Visible glue, tape, mold or moisture damage

    Delivery and collection cost is to be covered by the client. If the product is not collected from SKUvantage within 14 days of shoot completion, the product will be disposed of.
