Description:
This interface is used to install navigation, reverse camera and 2 other video inputs (e.g. or iPod video) onto the car screen. It has 4 video inputs:
1. RGB port (External navigation or External Android box).
2. Video In1 (used for DVD, Digital TV, DVR etc).
3. Video In2 (used for DVD, Digital TV, DVR etc).
4. CAM In (used for reverse camera).
This interface box can be used to install the above features on Audi A3, VW Golf7, VW Passat, Skoda Octavia and Seat. Please refer to the two pictures below:
Functions:
This interface is complete plug and play. It is easy to install and there is no need to cut any wires or open the monitor.
It has built-in high speed digital navigation module which means very clear picture on LCD is displayed, also the Navigation sound goes through the OEM speaker. This navigation computer is verified and compatible with various types of map in the world, like IGO, Sygic, Primo, etc.
It has OEM-like guidelines and PDC. CAN bus decoding is used to generate the reverse, switch, and guideline signals, the Guideline has 100% OEM look and feeling. Also the OEM PDC picture is kept and displayed together with the added reverse camera video.
The interface has built in navigation which makes it easy for installation. The Navigation chip has advanced hardware (256MB Ram, A6 Processor). It has Media playback option for Music, Video, Pictures. It also has built in Bluetooth for connecting to phone for receiving calls or music playback.
Note: The navigation chip has built-in Bluetooth to connect to phone and will allow users to receive and make calls from cars OEM screen. The sound for the Bluetooth can come from cars OEM driver side speaker if using our CAN box harness or can user can also use CAR AUX for sound in all speakers.
The Navigation Chip also have multimedia playback. The sound will be routed with the same options as Bluetooth.
The Interface can work with Audi, VW, Skoda and Seat. The screen will need to have 4Pin round LVDS connector. The CAN box harness will be connected behind the CD, This will allow OEM like Guidelines be shown. OEM parking sensors will also be displayed with the reverse image and guidelines. Giving the user a supreme sense of security while parking and reversing the car.
For VW, Skoda, Seat OEM touch panel will be used. For Audi the knob can be used or additional touch panel can be added to
use for added video inputs like navigation and DVD etc.
For Audi A3:
Installation is done behind the CD.
All connectors are Plug and play so there is no need to cut any wires.
To Switch from OEM to Inserted Navigation and other video inputs you can use the following:
"Menu" button on center console used to switch source. "Nav" button on the steering wheel used to switch source. "Media", "Radio", "Car" and "Tone" button on center console used to
switch back to OEM. External switch button can also be used to switch.
• The knob can be used to control the map functions. Changing the DIP settings on the CAN box can allow users to choose between Knob to control a cursor on the screen to make selection or in some maps like IGO the original map supports knob control can control the map directly. This allows the user not needing to add the touch layer.
• In case the user wants to add the touch layer. We provide a touch layer specially made for Audi. Which perfectly fits over the screen and does not damage the OEM screen.
Note:
All other Audi cars with MMI-3G and MMI-3G+ can also use this interface like Audi Q3, A6, A8, Q7 etc. Only need to not use the power harness. Instead use an open sided power harness. Please contact sales team for more information on connection.
For VW:
It is compatible with VW 2013 onwards screens, MIB Standard 5.8" and MIB High 8" screen can be supported.
Installation is done behind the CD.
All connectors are Plug and play so there is no need to cut any wires.
To Switch from OEM to Inserted Navigation and other video inputs you can use the following:
"Menu" button is used to switch source. (OEM NAVIAV1 AV2OEM)
"Audio/Media" button is used to switch back to OEM.
External switch button can also be used to switch.
For VW the original touch screen will be used to control the inserted video and navigation. In inserted video mode touch will only work for inserted video, No background touch will be registered.
When DVD is installed the interface will generate icons on the screen which can be used to control the DVD functions. No remote will be needed.

RGB Port:
The RGB port can be used to connect external GPS module. Can also be used to connect external Android Box (provided as optional). The Android box has powerful hardware and customized UI for optimized use in a car while driving.
The Camera can be connected using the Video RCA cable provided.
• Red: Backup camera Input. • Yellow: Video Input 1. • White: Video Input 2. • Grey: IR output to control inserted DVD/TV touch control.
Connecting Reverse Camera:
Connect the camera to the Red Cable on the RCA. Select the DIP 5 as ON for added camera.
The trigger wire of the installed camera should be connected to the green wire of the 6Pin power cable of the interface. This will switch to camera when the reverse gear of the car is engaged.
Camera RCA plug connects to Red .
Connect power switch cable to green wire of 6Pin power cable of interface.

OSD Menu Operation:
The OSD Menu can be brought up by using the three buttons on the interface.
Each Video input i.e. GPS, Video1, Video2, Camera and RGB can be adjusted separately. The interface has 5 separate memory states for each setting.
The keys used are "menu" "+" and "-".
To bring up the OSD menu press the "menu" button. To toggle between option use "+" and "-".
Options:
o Contrast: Set the contrast of each video source. o Brightness: Set the Brightness of each video source. o Saturation: Set the saturation of each video source. o Position-H: Set the horizontal position of each video source. o Position-V: Set the vertical position of each video source. o IR-AV1: Use this to IR program the touch control of video source 1. o IR-AV2: Use this to IR program the touch control of video source 2. o Guide-L: Use this to set horizontal position of guidelines on the screen. o Guide-CTRL: the installer can set ON/OFF to enable the parking guide line,
which shows the safe zone when parking. o PDC-OFFSET: is used to tune the PDC location on the right side of LCD when
in reverse mode, while the Left 75% is used to display the inserted camera video. Some cars has PDC in the center of screen, while some has the PDC on the right. This options makes it always centered.
o H-SIZE: Use this to adjust the horizontal position of each video source. o V-SIZE: Use this to adjust the vertical position of each video source.
Reverse Camera is displayed with reverse guidelines, when green wire goes to 12 V. The guidelines are exactly the same as OEM. The guidelines are adjusted so fit perfectly and are accurate.
The programming of IR code：
o There are >10 types of DVD, NAVI, and Tuners’ IR code are stored inside the
interface. The installer just adjusts the options to select to then wanted one, then it works. If the wanted type is not there, he may set the option to be “Prog” in the menu.
o When programming, switch the video input to AV1, and set DIP6 down once, then the control icons will be shown, and one of the them will be blinking, which means the suitable IR code is wanted. The installer should now connect the hardware: connect the IR signal wire of the DVD to the gray-wire in the power cable of the interface[the IR input wire], and press once the related IR key.
o Then the 2nd icon will be blinking, which means one IR code is read and another code is wanted, the installer just repeat the pressing till all code are read.
o When the last icons stops blinking. The installer should change the hardware: connect the IR output wire[RGB port’s 7 pin wire, or the gray wire of the CVBS connectors] of interface to the DVD’s IR signal wire. Then when the user rotates the knob or use the touch foil to generate the IR code, DVD will be controlled.
o The programming of AV2 is the same as above.
Extra Control Port:
This interface has released a lot of hidden functions, so the 3rd party can use it for various usages.
The Extra control port close to the power connector：
（1） the 4-pin in the up row：touch screen 4Pin input, when in DVD or TV, the touch foil can be switched and connected to these 4Pin, so the controller inside can read the touch operation and location and generate the IR code for DVD etc.
（2） the 5th Pin(TXD2Navi)：the input pin to take external control data for
internal navi, to replace the touch control。
（3） the 6th Pin (TXD.Status)：the interface tells the outside its internal status.
（4） the 7th Pin（5V_SW）: this pin can output 5V with 1A max, which is enough for a relay pull, when in inserted video this pin=5V, when in OEM video, this pin=0V.
（5） the 8th Pin（5V_AV1/2）：this pin can output 5V with 1A max, which is enough for a relay pull, when in AV1/2 video this pin=5V, otherwise this pin=0V. it can be used to switch the 4Pin touch so one touch foil is shared by navi, and DVD/TV.
The 5th pin in the Video input port (RXD.Term)
This interface can work in terminal mode, a 3rd developer or installer can send commands into this pin. E.g. when he sends “switch Input 1\r”, the interface will switch into RGB navi, “switch Input 2\r”, the interface will switch into AV1, when
he sends “Help\n”，the interface will tell a list of available commands. This Pin
works in 11.5K baud rate and it loses all sent commands when drops power.
Extra control port:

YELLOW：12V power supply (Battery)
RED: ACC（=12V when key in ignition state）：when=12V，the interface works.
BLACK：Ground to Chassis.
GREEN：Can box generated reverse trigger signal [when =12V the reverse video is enabled], this wire is automatically generated by CAN bus.
WHITE: This wire is the switch signal, when=0.6V, the interface switches.
GRAY：CAN box’s communication data. Can cut it down, if not needing OEM key control or guidelines functions.
GREEN+WHITE: Provides operating signal to navigation module.
RED+WHITE：Provides protocol signal to navigation module.

Navigation Functions:
When switching to navigation the main menu will be shown.
To setup up navigation press the "Navigation" icon. If first time use it will take you to page where user can select default path for the navigation software through the SD card. Select the ".exe" file for the navigation software. Select auto-start option if user do not want to set every time. This will execute the ".exe" file path on entering Navigation mode.
When starting for first time. Remove SD card and enter navigation mode. It will automatically start touch screen calibration. Press the corresponding crosses on the screen to complete touch calibration.
The main menu consists of three icons. Navigation, Setup and Multimedia.
The Setup Icon will let you go to options menu. Which will let you configure options of the navigation module. The options consist of:
o Setup: set pathway for .exe file. o GPS monitor: Used to check the GPS signal. If no signals shown set COM
port to COM2. The Baud rate is automatically set. o System Setup: Used to change the display language and switch effects. o Touch Screen Calibration: To manually start touch screen calibration. o Screen Adjustments: To set color, Position and Size of display. (will not be
used in case using built in GPS module) o System Volume: To adjust volume of touch strokes and system volume. o Time settings: To adjust time and time zone. (will be selected automatically
when GPS signal is positioned) o System Information: To see software version, perform factory reset or
Repairs.
Multimedia can be accessed from the main menu. This includes music, video, digital books, photos and Bluetooth music. The audio is sent out through AUX port and can be connected to the cars OEM speaker system. The files for multimedia are stored on usb and can be accessed using mini USB to USB hub cable. The functions of multimedia are used through the touch screen.
For upgrade of software for navigation module insert the provided SD card with upgrade software and reboot the device by disconnecting and reconnecting power. The upgrade process will start automatically and once completed touch calibration screen will start.
Optional Accessories:
1. Smartphone Receiver:
This is a specially designed HDMI receiver box that converts HDMI to High definition RGB input for the interface.
The HDMI in can be used to connect to phones directly (phones equipped with HDMI out function).
Connect to Power from CAN box. ACC and GROUND.
Connect to AUX for OEM speakers.
Connect to RGB of Interface.
Support for MHL converter for Samsung phones.
Support for Apple Lightning to HDMI converter.
It can also be connected to Wireless Smartphone dongle(also provided as optional) to display the phones screen through Miracast, Airplay or DLNA.
To connect the Smartphone receiver connect the RGB cable to the RGB port on interface. Connect the red and black power cable to ACC and GND from CAN box to give power to the converter.
Make sure to select the DIP4 on interface to be OFF and DIP1 on interface should be ON.
The AUX can be connected for sound (make sure to turn sound on from phone to HDMI) or directly connect sound from phone using AUX cable separately.
When connecting to Android or Iphone for mirroring please check with phone how to connect wireless display. Follow simple process to have phones content on cars OEM screen.
