The Ajax Footballs Next Star task force comprises of 2 scouts and

ideally, 1 nominated coach from the Ajax Academy. The early part ofour search involves our task force scouring the country to look forundiscovered talent.

They will do this by utilising their contacts, speaking to local clubsand scouts and doing the hard miles to watch matches andtraining and meet potential players. The Ajax Academy coach is notexpected to attend this part, but will want to brief our AFNS team

prior to their search starting

At each trial we will see up to 5,000 kids between 16 and 18 years old.

The trials will be run by our partners Iconic Worldwide Media including

set skill drills and collating all relevant scientific data. Where practical

we would like the Ajax Academy coach to join our task force at some of

these events which would be held at a selection of Chinese provinces

including Beijing, Guangdong, Hunan, Shanghai, Hubei and Sichuan

Working very closely with the Ajax Academy coach we invite 40 promisingkids to a weekend trial on Dates TBC where they will undertake squadtraining and play 2 matches against a selected youth team.

Potential players are assessed during the matches, also in terms of their trialdata and, more generally, by their physique and attitude. At the end of thisweekend 14 players will be selected to train at the Ajax Academy.

We would like to do a pre-series interview with head coachMarco Van Basten (approximately 1 hour) then, when our 14players arrive it would be good for Marco Van Basten to set

out what he would expect from the winner of AFNS expected time, 2 hours.

At around the halfway point in training a further visit fromMarco Van Basten with a short interview would be ideal,maximum 2 hours. As a climax to the series Marco Van Bastenwill need to select the winning player.

We would like a top player (possibly an Ajax Academy graduate)to meet our trainees and show them round the Ajax Academyfacilities whilst laying down a few ground rules max 2 hours.During the Academy weeks, we would like one player per weekto be available for about 2 hours to attend training, meet withour contenders, and to provide advice and mentoring this isthe major commitment from Ajax and can be scheduled aroundtraining and season plans. We do not need 5 different players,so some players could attend more than once.

In addition to training and classroom activities we alsoanticipate a number of practice matches to include ties againstlocal pro-am teams. Not all of these matches need to be held atthe Academy, we will work with Ajax Academy staff to arrive atan acceptable schedule and location.

We would also like to invite selected Ajax Legends to join in ourtraining and practice matches.
