The difference between a traineeship and anapprenticeship is that a traineeship can be either a full time or part time employment based trainingarrangement, usually for a nominal duration of 12 months or more, generally in a non-trade related area. Study requirementsAttendance in classThis course is equivalent to 4 days per week when studied over one semester.

At-home studyAs well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 10-15 hours of additional studyeach week outside of class hours, including private study, assignment preparation, and research.You will need to have the basic technical requirements for at-home study. If you don’t have access to acomputer and WiFi at home, we recommend using our library computers during library hours.

Work placementWork placement is not a requirement for this course.

What you need for your first day of classOn your first day you should bring your SM TAFE confirmation enrolment receipt, your student ID,stationery (pen, exercise book, file and a USB storage device).Your lecturers will advise you at orientation of any additional resource requirements such as textbooks andsoftware applications, as well as providing information on how to access or purchase studentcopies/licences. The annual fees cap on Lower fees, local skills qualifications means that regardless of how much course fees are, you will not pay more than aset total amount per qualification or course in any one calendar year.
