for mine is a generation that circles the globe and searches for something we haven't tried before. So never refuse an invitation,

never resist the unfamiliar, never fail to be polite and never outstay the welcome. Just keep your mind open and suck in

PREFACE

January, 2012--- At the heart of Focus Reports lies a spirit of adventure. It is a lifestyle which can fling you from the intense heat of India’s bustling cityscapes to the penetrating cold of Russia in February. One day you can be strolling through the proud architecture of the historical city of London, another you can be awestruck by the natural beauty of Malaysia’s Malacca straits. We travel to countries which feel the full weight of their history like Poland, to those ‘New World’ countries entirely focused on the present like Australia and to those transfixed on the future like China. In all of these countries we encounter individuals of every ethnicity, creed and outlook.

The pictures collected in this album are meant to serve as a reminder of the places we have been, the people we have met and the thoughts that flashed through our heads at the time. We have all had to adjust to life ‘on the field’ and the specificities of cultures that can delight and astound us on one day, whilst baffling, dumbfounding and quite frankly irritating even the most resilient of us on another day. However challenging we find this itinerant lifestyle, it is the sights and experiences like those collected in this album which remind us why we do what we do.

Its the people, the lifestyle, the mystical charm - India has always amazed the world with her uniqueness. Holi, one of the country's most important festivals, is in a class of its own... ...Filled with a unique thrill, the colorful festival bridges the social gap where the entire nation celebrates the triumph of "good" over "bad"... Social barriers literally disappear. For a day.
