FILTHY SEXY LONDON

FILTHY SEXY LONDON“Too Rich For Monaco, Too FILTHY For Paris,

Too Famous For LA, Too Drunk For Moscow, Too SEXY For Brazil, Too High For Amsterdam, Get Me To LONDON”FSL started on the King’s Road, and a lot

of the influence for their unisex London Slogans collection comes from SW3. Look out for slogans such as “Slumming It On The King’s Road” , “Please Return To Harrods” and “King’s Road Royalty”. Being a British brand FSL wanted to keep their slogans relatively London based. The directors said “We wanted to pay homage to the city that gave us the inspiration, courage and opportunity to follow our dreams. We love London, we love living in London, and we wanted customers all over the world to be able to share this feeling with us by wearing our T-shirts”. In the London Slogans collection you can expect to find effortlessly cool, sometimes cheeky and always fabulously British pieces such as “Good Day Old Boy”, “Wear FSL and Party In London” and “Champagne and Cigarettes” to really epitomise every aspect of London life.

Not just for the Chelsea set, FSL also get a lot of inspiration from London’s oh-so-hip fashion district of Shoreditch with slogans such as “Hoxton Hipster” and “Shoreditch Local”. In the 70s when the punk rock scene was vibrant and shock tactics were rife, Vivienne Westwood and Malcom McLaren made political T-shirts to sell in their shop ‘SEX’ - the most popular design featured a swastika and an inverted crucifix under the word “Destroy”. If edgy, avant-garde is your thing you will certainly find something you love in FSL. Described as “Exceptionally Rebellious, Sex-Infused, Avant Garde With A Vintage Feel, Edgy British Glamour” FSL pride themselves on always being at the epicentre of the new, edgy and exciting and incorporate

all these things into their designs. Band logos and lyrics became popular on T-shirts too, an iconic example being the Sex Pistols “God Save The Queen” T-shirts that are still worn today. FSL have their own pieces which pay homage to our royals. “Being a British brand, we wanted to give a nod to the royals as they are a quintessential part of British culture” said one of the FSL team in a recent interview. “Make sure to check out the “Meeting Harry At Mahiki” slogan tee and “This Is My Party Top” tank!”Going away this year? FSL JetSet collection is where you

need to be looking!Neon tank tops shouting “FSL COME ON MY BOAT” were hugely popular at the Cannes Film Festival, and “FSL SUNSHINE JUNKIE” has been worn out and about in the LA sunshine.

“We are inspired by the diverse nature and different areas of London and wanted to show this through our designs”

Filthy Sexy London is a boutique fashion line specialising in edgy, unique pieces inspired by the style, people and atmosphere of London itself. I have worked on several tasks for this company including designing their look book, magazine spreads; press releases; pattern and apparel design.

BIRTHDAY MAGAZINE

Birthday magazine is a teen publication, working alongside O2 Think Big. What makes Birthday magazine different? It includes multicultural models and has a culturally diverse content for teenage girls aged around 12-18. I have worked on various projects for this company and designed the logo for the magazine, including a variety of promotional materials such as flyers. I am also the editorial designer for the quarterly issued magazine.

A set of three slick; clean; minimalist style town guides, designed for the seaside town of Folkestone. In terms of style, these guides were inspired by Wallpaper* city guides. In order to discreetly fit into a pocket or handbag these guides were A6 in size.

FOLKESTONE GUIDES

SUDNT MAGAZINE

SUDNT magazine is a publication designed for students all across the United Kingdom. Each spread is designed to look different from the previous one, to keep the young wandering minds of students aged 16 – 25 focused and interested. A4 in size and 150 pages long.

COCO LONDON

COCO London was a concept for a boutique fashion website. The website was designed to be an online store. The design was influenced by sites such as asos and boohoo.com .

FIVE LOGOS

These are some examples of the logos I have designed. The top left is for Birthday magazine. The top right is a concept for a coffee shop “coffee at no.6 Bakers Street”. Second row on the left is the logo for COCO London. On the right is a logo I created for my own self-promotion. Finally the logo at the bottom is an idea for the re brand of the music channel VIVA.

B
