Baby Dalle on the way! Congratulations to FF John Dalle Angelini and his wife, Kayla, who are expecting a baby girl in February! We are so excited to meet the little one!

Water Rescue Drills On Wednesday, CKFR C-Shift crews conducted Rescue Swimmer drills at Wildcat Lake. Crews simulated the retrieval of both floating and submerged victims and launching of the Rapid Deployment Device (RDC) Thanks to LT Brown for setting up a great drill!

On Thursday evening, CKFR hosted its biannual Volunteer Open House at the Administrative Facility. We had 26 prospective candidates attend to learn about CKFR’s Volunteer Program and whether it would be a good fit for them. This is the first phase of the Volunteer On-Boarding Process – if candidates wish to continue, they should submit a completed application to the HR Office (HR Asst. Luisi) to advance to the next phase.

This event was presented by Capt. Stebor (Vol. Program Manager), Lt. Suazo and Lt. Farley. Asst. Chief Tague also attended and extends his gratitude to these officers and to HR Asst. Luisi for all of their effort, commitment, and professionalism provided to make this program successful. Additionally, Chief Tague extends his thanks to all of the interested candidates who took their time to learn more about this program and the opportunity to serve the CK Community! Volunteer Open House—August 1st

Whaling DaysWe had a great time in the Whaling Days parade on Saturday! Here are some photos in case you missed out on the fun. Chief attempts to blend into the crowd for a quick rest...we see you Chief.

Whaling Days Cont.A huge thanks to all of our parade walkers who participated!

On Thursday, July 25th, BR56 was deployed with the South Puget Sound Strike team to Goldendale, WA to assist the DNR crews. The strike team has been busy with patrolling fires that have been knocked down, putting out hot spots, and getting trained in becoming even better wildland firefighters.

The strike team consists of brush trucks from Central Kitsap, North Kitsap, Woodinville Fire, Eastside Fire, and East Jefferson Fire. Weather ranged from 85-95 degrees during the day with strong, gusty winds. The fires in the area have been due to a large lightning storm that passed through the region and developed over 3,500 lightning strikes, along with some other campfire-related incidents.

Pictured in front are CKFR crew members Elliott Bresnan and

Marcus Oliver!
