Dates to Remember:
What is the strongest building in
your neighborhood? I’m guessing
that we don’t really think about
that until hurricane season comes
around. When a hurricane comes,
being in building that you know is
constructed to withstand the
worst, provides a sense of security
in the chaos of a storm.
Where do you go when the threat
isn’t from the weather? Where do
you go when you and your spouse
are having a rough time? Where
do you go when the doctor says,
“I’m sorry, it’s cancer.” Where do
you go when you did something
that really hurt a person you love
and you can’t change it now?
Where do you go when you are
troubled with thoughts of what lies
beyond this life? The Bible gives
us the answer.
In the book of Proverbs, God’s
Word says, “The name of the “The name of the “The name of the “The name of the
LORD is a strong tower; the right-LORD is a strong tower; the right-LORD is a strong tower; the right-LORD is a strong tower; the right-
eous run to it and are safe.”eous run to it and are safe.”eous run to it and are safe.”eous run to it and are safe.”
Does that mean if we call on God,
he will whisk away whatever trou-
ble or hardship is weighing us
down? No, the storms of life will
rage on, but like a strong building
God will give us what we need to
weather the storms. When we
connect with him by reading the
Bible or hearing his promises as
we attend worship services, God
gives us strength. There we find
the LORD God who loves us no
matter how big the messes we
have made in life. There we find
the LORD God who loves us no
matter how much confidence we
have in ourselves. There we find
the LORD God who doesn’t leave
us asking, “Have I been good
enough?” or “Have I done
enough?” Instead we find the
LORD God who has freely given us
a place in heaven after we die.
There we find the LORD God who
will give us the strength we need
to survive the storms of this life
until we reach the next.
Have you noticed that many
churches have a tower or steeple?
What a fitting reminder that in
these buildings we find the LORD
God who is the strongest tower
ever built!

DIY Escape Rooms were a first at SotB this spring. Most
aendees had never been experienced an escape room! There
was a lot of laughter, a lot of determina%on, and many accom-
plished escapees from the 3 different rooms.

Chef Mae Budde and his “staff” created and
served a very special 5-course meal to honor the ladies of
the congrega%on in May. It was an evening full of conver-
sa%on, drinks, laughter and some fabulous food. The la-
dies felt very spoiled!
Patuxent high school graduate, Connor
Lunick, was presented with a quilt made by
ladies of the congrega%on. We’ll be think-
ing of you and praying for you as you
aend CSM next year!

Contact Matt for tickets at
our salvation with even more kids than
last summer! Having done these types
of trips in high school, I can reflect on
the growth that happens when you
share your faith outside of your home
congregation. While this group is help-
ing us with volunteer hours and to meet
some of our outreach goals, we are
gifting them with spiritual growth and
an increase in confidence as they share
We are ready for a space adventure as
this year’s VBS theme has been an-
nounced: Miraculous Mission. Jesus
Saves the World! Our congregation has
a jumpstart on our volunteer list this
year, as a youth group from Eternal
Love Lutheran Church in Appleton, WI is
coming to assist us that week. God
willing, adding this group to our own
volunteers, we can share God’s plan for
God’s Word.
Right now, there are 5 teenagers and two adult chaperones (two separate bedrooms required) coming. There is still some need for housing or lending of mattresses. If you are interested in hosting any meals for them, please speak with Shauna Kopitzke at [email protected], or (920) 851-5660 who is coordinating their stay while here.

SOCCER CAMP 2019 Shepherd of the Bay Soccer Camp 2019 hosted 84 children from the community - 35 of whom were new to our camp.
With the help of 5 high school soccer players from Winnebago Lutheran Academy (WLA) in Fondulac, WI, and 13 of our
congregation, we coached 10 groups of kids during 5 mornings of soccer. We taught basic skills, improved technique,
incorporated fun games, and instilled a love for soccer. But beyond that, we modeled and taught sportsmanship and
Christian behavior. Pastor Oison led the groups in a devotion each morning teaching the children to PRESS ON TOWARD
THE GOAL!!
A grateful thank you to the many members who assembled, sorted, pumped, cooked, ran, shopped, nursed, fed,
mopped, moved chairs/tables, hauled water and much more. Your energy and heart made this, our largest outreach
effort, a success!
