Earthquake-2013 Situation - Balochistan 18 November - 2013
Government Way Forward for Earthquake-2013 Balochistan
Cash transfer modalities will be used to rehabilitate the infrastructure for houses, repairing and rebuilding of schools, BHUs and THQ, Irrigation systems and Karezes.
Launching water schemes through PILAR, and LINGO DAMs, Arah KOR , SANGEEN Kalat Dams and Solar Energy will be supplied to the Karezes and wells.
Vocational training centers will be initiated and launched which will help to generate livelihoods and income opportunity.
A total of 18,162 million PKR (18.162 billion) will be needed for rehabilitation. Although provincial government has secured in hand 10% of total fund while 90% of fund is still in need for rehabilitation and Government will implement rehabilitation activities with help of link -government departments.
Food Security Assistance for Earthquake 2013 in Balochistan
Around 150,800 food packets were distributed among affected people by Government Institutions like NDMA, PDMAs ( Balochistan, Punjab, KPK and Sindh), ARMY, NAVY by different routes.
A total of 90,000 food ration packs containing wheat flour, sugar, pulses, tea, dates, and dry milk were provided to affected people of two districts (Awaran and Kech ) of Blochistan by Humanitarian Organizations.
Around 50 Tons of high energy biscuits were also distributed in different distribution hubs.

Food Security Assistance with GFD – KPK/FATA 31 Oct - 2013
WFP has provided assistance to 161,994 IDP families (17,352 in camp + 141,602 in off-camp + 3,040 in return areas) and covered 971,964 beneficiaries which is 99% of coverage against planned 162,500 families and distributed 15,470 MT of food during the month of October-2013. Around 86% (139,964) IDP families were assisted by WFP inside KPK while 14% (22,030) inside FATA , in October-2013. In assisted families 134,455 (83%) were male headed while 27,538 (17%) were female headed households.

Food Security Assistance- Livelihood, Agriculture, Livestock– KP/FATA 17 Nov-2013
Around 1,250 families were assisted with conditional cash grants (250) and Cash for Work (500 Males and 500 Females) during the first trench in district Peshawar, in October 2013.
Livestock Restocking (small ruminants) was carried out and 265 families were benefited in district Kohat, in October and November 2013.
Around 251 families residing in D.I. Khan were benefited with livestock restocking (female and male goats), along with livestock management training for enhancing milk production. Beside this, small ruminants were also vaccinated in last and current month.
Around 3,900 families were assisted with poultry restocking, seeds, fertilizers and some CFW activities in October and November 2013 in districts Peshawar (Kohat and Nowshera).

Livelihood Recovery Appraisal (LRA) – II 2013
Updates
Data collection for household survey in 7 districts of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan was completed on September 28, 2013. Data entry and data cleaning was completed on October 09, 2013. Data analysis and report is in progress, initial findings and draft report of household survey is expected during first week of December. Data collection for community and institutional resilience components of LRA-2013 is in progress and will be completed by the end of November 2013. Data analysis and preliminary findings for resilience component will be available during first week of December. Federal and provincial level results vetting workshops will be carried out during second and third week of December. Final report and launch of LRA-2013 is expected in second week of January
