Sheboygan County
Humane Society and
Sheboygan County
Food Bank are
partnering to provide a
Food Share Program!
The Food Share program provides free dog food for
pet owners that are utilizing pantry services. Select
pantries in Sheboygan County are part of the pilot
program; we hope to open it to more pantries as
the program develops. Participants receiving
pantry services can receive up to 3 months of dog
food for free! All they have to do is signup during
select pantry hours in their location. The dog food is
delivered right to their doorstep once per month by
dedicated volunteers.
Our goal is to keep families and pets together; the
everlasting bond between humans and pets is
unbreakable. We understand that undue hardship
can cause a lot of stress; we want to provide a
sense of relief to families with pets.
When a community joins together we can do
powerful things. Please join in our efforts to make
the community a great place to live!

2 SUMMER 2017 SHELTER NEWS
Sheboygan County Humane Society was one of three employee-selected organizations to participate in Masters Gallery Foods 2017 Gives Back Campaign!
Throughout the year MGF is hosting employee events to help support the needs of each organization. MGF generous employees donated over $56,000 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin, Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, Sheboygan County Humane Society and the United Way of Sheboygan County. Masters Gallery matched all employee contributions with the match going to the United Way. In total, over $112,000 was distributed among the four organizations!
SCHS is honored to be a part of the MGF Gives Back Campaign. It is support like this that makes our dreams a reality and allows our programs to flourish.
#MGFgivesback
It's officially spring, and to kick the
season off, Van Horn Automotive
Group has donated a 2012
Chrysler Town & Country Touring to
the Sheboygan County Humane
Society.
"The employee owners at Van
Horn hold a special place in their
heart for animals. They are the
innocent ones. They don't have
the power to protect themselves
in our society. Van Horn really
wants to help those who are
innocent victims," says Chuck Van
Horn.
Van Horn is very fortunate to be
able to donate a van to help with
some of the organizations needs
for the pets. It is important to have
transportation methods to rescue
abused or neglected animals from
a poor environment. The van
gives us the flexibility to run
errands, pick up donations and
community outreach. The van will
transport pets to mobile events
and to local assisted living facilities
for visits with the residents or to find
their forever home.
TNR
(Trap-Neuter-Return)
$25 Spay/neuter services for
outdoor cats.
Only effective method of
stabilizing outdoor cat
colonies, no new kittens!
Cats are humanely trapped,
vaccinated & altered.
THANK YOU to International Subaru of
Sheboygan for choosing SCHS as one
of the non-profits to benefit from the

Subaru customers who chose SCHS as
their hometown charity added up to
$9,974 in support to local animals
waiting to find their forever homes!
Thank you to everyone that choose
SCHS & for supporting us!
-THE SUBARU 2016 SHARE THE LOVE®

4 SUMMER 2017 KID’S CORNER
A HUGH THANK YOU goes out to Mrs.
Kluth's third grade class and Mrs.
Adelman's AM and PM 4K classes
from Sheboygan Falls Elementary
school. They collected items for their
yearly Spread the Love service
project and donated the items to

We are all so happy to receive the
much needed wish list items!
KIDS
GIVING BACK
Students at Jackson Elementary School read every Wednesday and track their reading stamina minutes in the Tour De Jackson School Challenge. First and third grade students met their reading goal and earned the opportunity to read with animals. On Thursday, March 9, the Sheboygan County Humane Society brought two kittens, a cat, a bunny, and a guinea pig for students to pet, hold and enjoy. Students brought books and took turns reading out loud to the animals. The students want to thank the Sheboygan County Humane Society for sharing their animals!
Ashley, hosted a tour with first graders from Elementary School of the Arts & Academics. They learned how we care for the animals, what volunteers do and made special Easter treats for the dogs. Then they delivered the goodies to the shelter where they received lots of smiles and appreciation from our staff. THANK YOU ESAA!
A GIGANTIC THANK YOU to the 6th
graders at Horace Mann Middle
School for raising $534.41 to support
the animals at Sheboygan County
Humane Society.
Learn About and Tour SCHS! This is a great activity for Scouts, schools and other groups.
Schedule a group tour at myschs.com/family fun/tours
A HUGE THANK YOU TO Farnsworth middle school. They had a penny war to raise money for SCHS and then delivered the donation of $893.55 and toured the shelter. That is so awesome!
All school year long the shelter gets visit s from school and scout groups willing to give their all in helping raise funds and collect supplies for the shelter. Here are just a few examples of the wonderful ways children can help SCHS and our animals!

5 SPRING 2017 | Whiskers & Tails TAIL WAGGER’S ADOPTION STORIES
We adopted Pumpkin and Atlas
(formally Nirvana and Sundance) in
September 2012 and could not
imagine life without them! Although
we don't live in Sheboygan
anymore, we are so happy with our
fur babies and love seeing all the
good work this organization
continues to do for Sheboygan
county. Keep up the amazing work!
-Elizabeth
PUMPKIN &
ATLAS
Ashleigh adopted Myles (otherwise
known as Fritz) when he was 11 weeks
old and I couldn't imagine life without
him! He is now around 7 months old
and such a happy kitty. He loves to
play fetch and loves to get his tummy
rubbed! He is an active little guy but
also loves to snuggle. Myles stole my
heart the moment I took him home
MYLES
STORY BOARD!
Come visit the shelter to see our
new "Tail Wagger's" Adoption Stories
bulletin board. It includes wonderful
stories & pictures of animals adopted at
SCHS!
Volunteer Jane did an amazing job
putting this together for us!
SHEBA
.[March 17th] is Sheba's unofficial 14th birthday. The reason it's unofficial is because when we adopted her from you guys the vet said she had probably just turned one. So 13 years ago she was a beautiful stray looking for her forever home. And what an amazing 13 years it's been. The reason I'm sending this is because I am sure it's very hard to see animals not adopted or find their forever home and I was just hoping it would brighten your day. Thanks for all you guys do!!
Thank you for giving Sheba her forever home & 'Happy Birthday' to Sheba!

12 SUMMER 2017 STILL LOOKING FOR LOVE
Call or stop by SCHS today to meet these pets still looking
MCDERMOTT
Hello, my name is McDermott but don't be surprised when you hear people calling
Beefcake. As I am a handsome Beefy Boy. I absolutely love to play, specially when its
with a squeaker! I can even sit for you if you ask. One more thing I love would be
food, but don't worry I'm very gentle when it comes to taking treats from you. Wont
you please come visit me at the Sheboygan County Humane Society?
GINGER
Those eyes, that red coat. Ginger is quite the regal cat. She is declawed and
ready for her own home- but adults only please and no other pets for this
eight year-old little lady. She is a spunky and attention-loving gal in addition
to being a beauty queen. Her personality makes her a true companion, she
will dine with you, roll around on the floor, work at our computer alongside
you, and more. Come see for yourself; this combo of sugar and spice is hard
to resist! Send an e-mail to [email protected] and you can find out more
information about Ginger and set up a meeting time.
CLARA
This pup with the beautiful coat is Clara. She's full of energy and loves to run in
our fenced-in yards. Not only that though, she LOVES to play with all sorts of
toys, but especially tennis balls. She will gladly sit or lay down upon request in
order to receive her toys or food as a reward. She's not one to be overly
clingy, yet enjoys being pet and massaged. In fact, she's done really well with
handling. This girl has some intense tail wagging which helps to show just how
joyous she is when she gets to play or go for a walk. The Mod Squad program
has even used some special items to help this energetic beauty relax and de-
stress with her long stay here at the shelter. She's done really well with some
MARBLES
Marbles just might be the softest kitty in the entire shelter, he is SUPER SUPER
SOFT, and you will so enjoy running your fingers through his awesome coat.
And really, that face... too cute for words! He just isn't a fan of other kitties
and wants to be your one and only feline friend. He is a relaxed, quiet,
calm boy who is a nice mix of affectionate AND independent. to show just
how joyous she is when she gets to play or go for a walk. The Mod Squad
