FOR INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

G/GTA8.3 For Industrial Applications.Cummins natural gas engines are designed and built to makeyou money by maximizing uptime and minimizing maintenancerequirements. The combination of sophisticated air/fuel handling, ignition and electronic engine controls functions as a seamless, integrated system to deliver optimum application efficiency atthe lowest cost. Which makes Cummins the right driver forevery industrial application.

Features And Benefits.Cummins G/GTA8.3 delivers reliable performance with reducedmaintenance. Every time. Because it shares many of the sameheavy-duty components with the highly successful and versatileCummins C Series diesel engine – with millions of C Seriesengines in use around the globe. Here are some of the heavy-duty components that make the G/GTA8.3 the right choice foryour applications:

Base Engine – Major internal components are shared withthe high-volume Cummins C Series diesel engine. Its robustpower cylinder and cylinder head components are designedfor maximum reliability and durability.

Cooling System – High-flow centrifugal pump.

Fuel System – Features a balanced intake manifold for evenfuel distribution. And Impco carburetion for optimum fuelconsumption and stable operation through all load ranges.

Ignition System – Altronic CD1 integral electronic ignitionsystem. Easily accessible spark plug location and single coilper cylinder for lower maintenance costs.

Exhaust System – Performance-tuned exhaust featureslower exhaust temperatures.

Lubrication System – High-capacity 9.25-gallon oil panis standard. Positive pressure lubrication feed to all internalbearing and wear surfaces.

Speed Control – Adjustable pressure-compensatedhydraulic governor provides precise and stable rpm controlunder all load conditions.

Warranty – Cummins one year, unlimited hours.

Optional Equipment.■ Electronic governor

■ Altronic III ignition

■ Shielded ignition

■ SAE #1 and #2 flywheel and housing

■ Water-cooled exhaust manifold on NA ratings

■ Air starter

■ Instrument panel

■ Base rails

All data is based on the engine operating with fuel system, water pump, and 9 in H2O (229 mm H2O)inlet air restriction with 5 in (127 mm) inner diameter, and with 2 in Hg (51 mm Hg) exhaust restrictionwith 6 in (152 mm) inner diameter; not included are alternator, fan, optional equipment and drivencomponents. Coolant flows and heat rejection data based on coolants as 50% ethylene glycol/50%water. All data is subject to change without notice.

Data represents gross engine capabilities obtained and corrected in accordance with SAE J1995 andISO 3046 conditions of 29.61 in Hg (100 kPa) barometric pressure (500 ft [152 m] altitude), 77ºF (25ºC)inlet air temperature and 0.30 in Hg (1 kPa) water vapor pressure using dry processed natural gas fuelwith 1035 BTU per standard cubic foot (38.56 kJ/I) lower heating value. Deration may be required dueto altitude, temperature and type of fuel. Consult Cummins Customer Engineering for operation abovethis altitude.
