The Tunkwa-Duff y Area contains some of the most sensitive grasslands in the Thompson Okanagan.

Past unrestricted Off -Road Vehicle (ORV) use has led to extensive damage to the ecosystem and wildlife habitats.

The grasslands in the Tunkwa-Duff y Area are protected while providing opportunities for sustainable ORV riding and camping.

Closures

To protect the sensitive grassland ecosystems, the following areas are closed to ORV riding and camping, under the section 58 of the Forest and Range Practices Act.

• Tunkwa

• Six Mile

• Cherry Creek

• Logan Lake Ski Trails

The closures do not apply to snowmobiles operating on a minimum of 0.5 m of snow.

Designated Trails and Amenities

ATV Trails

Forge Mountain – approximately 85 km of trails northwest of Logan Lake.

Logan Lake Face-Paska – approximately 65 km of trails northeast of Logan Lake.

Logan Lake South – approximately 30 km of trails southwest of Logan Lake.

Motorcycle Trails

Greenstone Duff y – approximately 130 km of trails southwest of Kamloops

Each riding area has designated staging areas.

Campsites

Camping is prohibited in the four closed areas. There are more than 20 designated campsites in the area off ering a range of amenities and services.
