EASTER SUNDAY THE RESURRECTION OF

THE LORD “Alleluia, Jesus is alive!” – Today we celebrate with joy the Resurrection of our Lord, for which we have been preparing these past 40 days of Lent. Christ is Risen! – This is the good news that the Church today proclaims, the truth that became the foundation of our faith and gives meaning to our lives. Christ is Risen – and one day we too will be resurrected to live with Him forever in heaven.

Last week’s final preparations for Easter were busy for all of us, cleaning, shopping, preparing the church, and above all, spiritual preparation in order to ready our

hearts for a meeting with the Risen Christ. On this occasion, I would like to thank everyone who took part in the parish penance service last Tuesday. We were blessed with 10 priests listening to confessions that evening. I would also like to thank those who prepared and served a delicious dinner for the guest priests. God Bless you!

Thank you to everyone who put a lot of work into cleaning, decorating, and preparing the church and the liturgy for Holy Week and Easter. Thanks to the our organist and choir, Altar Servers, representatives of parish organizations, and all those who took part in the procession with banners. God bless you all!

NOVENA BEFORE THE FEAST OF DIVINE MERCY On Good Friday we began the 9 day novena before Divine Mercy Sunday. The Novena Prayers are being said after all the Masses, until Sunday, April 28th. In her diary, St. Faustina wrote that Jesus told her: "On each day of the novena you will bring to My heart a different group of souls and you will immerse them in this ocean of

My mercy ... On each day you will beg My Father, on the

strength of My passion, for the graces for these

souls." (Diary 1209, 796) Brochures with Novena Prayers are available near the side altars or at the entrance to the church.

FEAST OF DIVINE MERCY Next Sunday, April 28th we celebrate Divine Mercy Sunday. At 3:00 PM we invite you to The Divine Mercy Hour in both Polish and English with veneration of the Relic of St. Faustina. The exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and confessions will begin at 2:00 PM. The greatest promise of mercy Jesus spoke to Faustina, is the grace of complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. It is connected with Holy Communion received on that day, following a good confession (without any attachment to even the smallest sin) in the spirit of the devotion to the Divine Mercy, that is, trusting God and loving our neighbor. Please join us in prayer and receive this special grace from God. PLEASE NOTE: The evening Mass next Sunday will be celebrated at 4:00 PM, after the Divine Mercy Hour.

Jezus Chrystus!

“Alleluja, Jezus żyje!” – Prze-żywamy dzisiaj radosną uroczy-stość Zmartwychwstania Pań-skiego, do której przygotowywa-liśmy się przez 40 dni Wielkiego Postu. Chrystus Zmartwychwstał! - Oto radosna nowina, którą dzi-siaj Kościół głosi, oto prawda, która stała się podstawą naszej wiary i nadaje sens naszemu życiu. Chrystus Zmartwychwstał – i my kiedyś zmartwychwsta-

niemy, aby żyć z Nim na wieki w niebie.

Ostatni tydzień był pracowity dla nas wszystkich. Przygoto-wania do świąt, porządki, zakupy, przygotowanie kościoła, a przede wszystkim przygotowanie duchowe, w swoim sercu na spotkanie z Chrystusem Zmartwychwstałym. Przy tej okazji pragniemy podziękować wszystkim, którzy wzięli udział w parafialnej spowiedzi w ostatni wtorek. Dziesięciu kapłanów posługiwało w konfesjonałach. Dziękujemy Paniom za przygo-towanie smacznej kolacji dla księży. Bóg Zapłać!

Easter 2019 My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, "He is not here; He has been raised!" The angel’s Easter

greeting echoes down through the centuries to bring hope, joy and courage to us all. The Resurrection of Jesus Christ from the de-ad is the single most significant event in the history of the world. It carries momentous meaning for each of our lives. For every wi-dow who has wept at a grave, for every parent who has mourned a child and for all who grieve, their tears, mourning and grief will end. For all who have suffered injustice, be-trayal or abandonment, Christ's triumph over sin, death and evil is cause for hope, inspira-tion to persevere, and reason to go on. Christ's Resurrection was not just for His own glory. It was for all of His followers that they might share in His glory not for a day or a season, but forever. What we celebrate today is the reason we can always live for tomorrow. Whether we are 8, 18 or 88, it is literally true that our best days are ahead. This life, with all its great joys, beauty and wonder, is not always easy, happy or fair. It is a fallen world but Our Savior has risen. Hope grows in our hearts, confidence builds in our souls and joy lifts our spirits. The Easter sequence says, “Death and life have contended in that combat stupen-dous.” At times, like Good Friday, it seems that death and evil might prevail. But Easter shows that they do not. In time – God’s time – good will definitively triumph over evil, Redemption will wipe out sin, and life will conquer death for all who believe in and fol-low Jesus Christ. May Easter be the optic through which we view the whole of life. Jesus Christ has risen from the dead. May the joy of Christ’s triumph resonate in your heart and may the realization of that victory guide you and your loved ones as you journey through this life on the way to Eternal Life. SPIRITUAL ADOPTION OF AN UNBORN BABY THE FIRST MONTH OF LIFE

Your spiritually adopted baby has been quite active this past month. Al-ready he is 10,000 times bigger than at conception. By the 20th day, your baby, like Jesus growing in His Mother’s womb, had developed the foun-dations of his heart, spinal cord and nervous system. His heart began to beat on the 21st day! The backbone and muscles are forming. Arms, legs, eyes and ears have already begun to show. Your baby is most vul-nerable during the next month to being aborted. Pray that the Lord of Life might move the heart of his mother to give him the most precious gift of all - the gift of life. Thank you to the parishioners and Religious Ed students of Our Lady of Czestochowa, who together spiritually adopted a total of 108 unborn ba-bies! Your daily prayers are so important to these children and their pa-rents.

40 DAYS FOR LIFE - THANK YOU During the recent international 40 Days for Life Spring/Lenten Campaign, our parish committed to 36 hours of peaceful, public prayer and vigil in front of the Planned Parenthood facility on Pleasant Street in Worcester. The response from Our Lady of Czestochowa was outstanding! Not only were all of the hours covered by one to five parishioners per hour du-ring our Wednesday/Thursday afternoons, but some people picked up extra hours on days that had no coverage. All four of our priests came to give witness, several coming on multiple days. Twelve students along with the Principal and a teacher from St. Mary’s School came to pray for an end to abortion. We prayed together as a strong Pro-Life Parish - sometimes in Po-lish, sometimes in English. There were people who came to vigil for the first time, with many of those coming back to pray every week. Every one of the additional events held during the campaign (the Rosary led by Bishop McManus, Protest PP Candlelight Vigil, …) had participants from our pa-rish. Thank you to all who stepped out of their comfort zone to stand for the sanctity of life as we are called to do by our Faith. Many people have expressed an interest in continuing our public prayer for an end to abortion. We have decided to pray on Pleasant Street on Mondays from 3:00 - 6:00pm throughout the year. You may come to vigil once a month, every other week, once a week for one hour, two or all three. You do not have to sign up, simply come and pray when you can. Remember that Planned Parenthood sees a huge increase in “no shows” when their clients see people peacefully praying outside one of their abortuaries.

40 DNI DLA ŻYCIA - PODZIĘKOWANIE Dziękujemy wszystkim, którzy wzięli udział w modlitwie za dzieci nienarodzo-ne podczas 40 Dni dla Życia w Wielkim Poście. Udział i zaangażowanie na-szych parafian w tym roku było naprawdę duże. Wielu ludzi pytało o kontynuację modlitwy przed kliniką aborcyjną w pozostałe dni roku. Dlatego zdecydowaliśmy modlić się dalej, w poniedziałki od godz. 3:00 do 6:00 po południu. Zapraszamy wszystkich chętnych. Kiedykolwiek mo-żesz: raz na miesiąc, czy w każdy poniedziałek, godzinę czy więcej, przyjdź i daj świadectwo. Nie ma zapisów, po prostu przyjdź. Twoja obecność ma zna-czenie i wpływa na mniejszą liczbę aborcji w klinice!
