PREPARE THEM FOR THEIR FUTURE RTEC 101: Gateway to College and Careers A reduced-cost course offered to students currently enrolled in high school and sponsored by their school district. Students taking RTEC 101 will… Become experts at navigating LCC, making their transition to college easier Identify academic and personal strengths, and explore their post-high school goals Improve their college-level reading, writing, and test-taking skills Learn how to manage the financial elements of attending college Be exposed to over 40 career technical programs offered at LCC Have an opportunity to dive deep into programs and careers of their choice Develop critical “soft skills” necessary to succeed in the college environment Eligibility for RTEC 101 1. Sponsorship by school district to enroll 2. Completed High School Connections referral form 3. Score of 68 (college-level) or better on Lane’s Accuplacer reading placement test 4. Student appointment with High School Connections Advisor 5. Student interest in attending LCC 6.
