Robomate ONLINE – Installation Guide and User Manual -Version 1.0

FOR WINDOWS DESKTOP / LAPTOP USERS

PRODUCT: PROBLEM SOLVING ASSESSMENT (PSA)

1. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

- You can use either a Desktop or Laptop with any one of the Operating systems such as

Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8.

- Recommended Processor speed is 3 GHz and above.

- Colour Monitor supporting minimum resolution of 1024 X 786 or higher.

- Recommended RAM is 2 GB and above.

- Software: Windows Media Player 8.0 or higher corresponding to your operating system and

Acrobat PDF Reader.

Note:

• For Windows XP Users – It is mandatory that you have Service Pack 3 installed.

• Microsoft has officially stopped development and support services for Windows XP

operating system and hence there is no guarantee of future releases of Robomate being

compatible for Windows XP. Hence it is recommended that you upgrade to later versions of

Windows preferably Windows 7 or later.

2. PRE-REQUISITES

Ensure the following before installing Robomate APP on your desktop / laptop:

- Desktop / Laptop should be virus free and in good working condition.

- Check the Audio and Video performance by playing any normal Audio / Video files.

- Ensure that the system has correct Date and Time (current date and time).

IMPORTANT

Robomate Apps – ONLINE represents a mode whereby you can access the learning content in

ONLINE MODE. By this it is meant that you have your Robomate App installed on your PC or laptop

connected to the internet.

Note:

- Download Robomate App from the link provided.

- Install Robomate App on your PC (refer process as mentioned in the document)

- New Users need to register themselves via the Sign-up button (at the login page).

- Login into Robomate by using your registered Email ID and Password provided during Sign-Up

process.

- Click on Free Content Tile to access ONLINE PSA product and navigate through the topics

provided.


- You need to be connected to the internet to register and use the product. A minimum of 2

MBPS internet bandwidth is recommended for a good user experience.

3. INSTALLATING ROBOMATE APP

Perform the following steps for installing of Robomate APP (once you have downloaded the APP)

- Click the Robomatesetup.exe file

- Click Accept to EULA to proceed with installation.


On completion of the 1st part, system will automatically proceed to the 2nd part of installation

process…

- Click Next to continue…


- By clicking I Agree, you confirm to abide by MTEL’s software license terms and Support

Agreements.

(Note: It is mandatory that you agree to the terms and conditions set forth to proceed with

the installation process)

- Continue clicking on ‘Next’ button till the installation is complete…



- On completion, a shortcut of Robomate App will be created on the desktop screen…


4. USING ROBOMATE APP

- Double click on the Robomate App icon…

Click on the SIGN-UP button to register your user details.

Note: All fields marked in * are mandatory. Make note of your email ID and password during

registration. The supplied email ID is the username during login.

Enter your username and password and click on the Login button…

Note:

1. If you are an existing user, there is no need for you to sign up. You can use the same username

and password to gain access to ONLINE PSA.


2. Already registered MT students for CBSE STD IX SA I and SA II or existing PSA Offline users

accessing via Pen drive mode NEED NOT download the App. You can access the product by simply

login and proceeding to FREE CONTENT Tile and clicking Problem Solving Assessment (PSA)

On successful login, you will proceed to Robomate Home…

There are 6 TILES displayed on Robomate Home. A brief summary is as below.

MY COURSES

Internet Requirement: NO (but preferable)

On clicking my courses, the system will provide you the link of your ordered product. You will need

to complete a registration process to activate your product license generated (…is explained later in

the document)

Note: However, if you have any ONLINE courses assigned, you will require an internet connection

to display the assigned ONLINE products under this section.

ROBOMATE LIVE

Internet Requirement: YES

This service is applicable for INK Students only. INK is a separate division (for Std V to IX – ICSE,

CBSE and Maharashtra Stateboard curriculum) operating virtual classroom lectures in ONLINE

mode relayed from Studios directly to the student residences. You can learn more about this by

accessing our corporate website http://www.mteducare.com


COURSE CATALOGUE


The Course Catalogue section displays all live online products available across all divisions with

sample previews. You can buy products listed in the catalogue by simply clicking the ‘BUY NOW’

button that directs you to the ecommerce portal.

Note: Currently Course Catalogue is not activated for your product. As and when it is activated, it will

automatically appear when you click the Course Catalogue Tile.

FREE COURSES


The Free Courses section displays all free live online products available across all divisions. These

products are generally smaller free products that you can access online.

Note: Currently ONLINE PSA product has been placed in the Free Products category.

USAGE STATISTICS

Internet Requirement: NO (but preferable)

The Usage Statistics section displays compiled information on your actual usage across parameters

such as Product (in case you have multiple products), Subject, Chapter, Topic (if setup in your opted

product) and a Detailed summary.

This function displays compiled data in terms of number of views and duration against the

parameters mentioned above.

TEST STATISTICS

Not Applicable for your product/s.

USING YOUR FREE PRODUCT (ONLINE PSA)

Simply click the product to browse through the learning content…

Click a subject to expand into Chapter level…

Note: As per your product configuration, system will display various content types available…in this

case system has only AV Lectures content…

IMPORTANT POINTS TO BE CONSIDERED…

a. The ‘time to open’ will depend on the configuration and most importantly

- The health of your PC,

- Operating System and the installed service pack eg: Windows 7 or 8 OS would be faster than

a Windows XP or Windows Vista installed PC.

- Windows default firewall settings,

- Anti-virus configuration and

- Other system parameters.


b. The size of the video (lecture duration) also adds to the above mentioned factor increasing

the ‘time to open’.

These aspects are all outside the purview of Robomate Apps and hence cannot be

controlled.

NOTE:

- Normal time to open a 60 minute video on a Windows 7 PC running i5 processor having 4

GB memory could be within 30 to 40 seconds – apart from dependencies of the above

mentioned factors.

- The speed bar MAY NOT respond with all Operating Systems especially Windows XP / Vista.

Support Desk window: Open 7 days a week from 10 am to 11 pm (excluding Public Holidays)

Note:

- In some situations, there could be a need for support personnel to take control of your PC

using remote management software to understand and diagnose the reported issues. In

these cases, it is mandatory for the end user to provide for an internet connection. In cases

where internet connection CANNOT be provided, it may NOT be possible for support to

assist you in closing the reported issue.

- End users may get a continuous ringing tone in situations. This may be due to agents being

busy attending calls on all support lines. Please call back after sometime.

- End users are requested to cooperate with support staff. Rude behavior or usage of foul

language is NOT acceptable.

DO’s and DON’T’S

Do`s

- Install the Robomate App in your OWN desktop / laptop ONLY

- Ensure that Date and Time of your desktop are correct, before installing Robomate App.

- Make sure that the media player works properly.

- Make a note of your username and password and store it safely.

DONT’s

- DO NOT change system date and time of your desktop / laptop

- DO NOT install and/or use the Robomate Software on additional desktop / laptop after

installing and registering it with a desktop / laptop earlier

- DO NOT try accessing Robomate in multiple devices, as it will work ONLY in one Device.
