The Air Show is a separate event, conducted on the same weekend as the
Country Stampede music festival to provide multiple attractions for a variety of fans and families.
The Air Show will be open to the general public and music festival goers on Saturday and Sunday. The campgrounds at Heartland Motorsports Park will be used for the Air Show and Stampede with shuttle service running back and forth each day.
Forbes Field sets a perfect backdrop for the return of a Kansas tradition started decades ago with the
“Superbatics Air Shows”. The map below shows aircraft on display, hospitality, and aerial viewing locations.

Headlining 2021 Thunder Over the Heartland
Air Force Viper Demo Team & Heritage Flight Foundation
The U.S. Air Force F-16 Viper Demonstration Team out of Shaw AFB will headline the 2021 Thunder Over the Heartland air show. The Viper Demo Team performs precision aerial maneuvers to demonstrate the unique capabilities of one of the Air Force's premier multi-role fighters — the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The team will showcase a high energy, fully-aerobatic demonstration profile highlighting the tactical combat maneuvering capabilities of one of the world's most popular combat aircraft. The demonstration aircraft features a unique paint scheme known as "Venom".
The team also works with the Air Force Heritage Flight Foundation to create a unique demonstration of the U.S. Air Force's past and present. In addition to the single-ship demonstration, the teams often come accompanied by a WWII or Korean-era warbird to participate in the U.S. Air Force Heritage Flight. This provides additional passes of the F-16 as it flies in close formation with an aircraft such as the P-51 Mustang, A-1 Skyraider, other aircraft.
