Think of C-MAX Energi Plug-In Hybrid as a “hybrid plus” that gives you the choice to plug in or not. Plugging in helps you charge up to a rating of 2.7Le/100 km (88 MPGe) city/hwy combined (electricity + gas), an all-electric driving range of up to 32 km, and a gas-plus-electric driving range of 869 km.1 Three selectable Electric Vehicle (EV) modes let you choose which mode to drive in: electric only (EV Now), gasoline only (EV Later), or a combination of battery power and gasoline engine (EV Auto). A new SE model broadens the C-MAX Energi lineup for 2017, while new 17" machined aluminum wheels with Magnetic-painted pockets bring additional distinction to Titanium.

Recharge at home in about 2.5 hours2 using its LED-illuminated charge port and a Ford-recommended 240V home charging station3 or 240V TurboCord.™3 With the standard 120V convenience charge cord, charge time is about 7 hours2 (easily handled overnight). The following hybrid parts are covered during this extended coverage period: high-voltage battery, hybrid continuously variable transmission, Inverter System Controller (ISC), DC/DC converter, high-voltage battery connector, battery pack fan assembly, thermistor probe, Hybrid Battery Pack Sensor Module (HBPSM), Battery Energy Control Module (BECM), and PHEV onboard charger.
