Maeulsoop (the Korean Traditional Village Grove)
In many cases of Maeulsoop in Korea, it was established based on the PUNGSU
(風水, Feng Sui) theory on typical topography and traditional religious beliefs.
The Maeulsoop is a complementary link between nature and culture
at mountainous landscape in Korea (Baesanimsu, 背山臨水)

Background
The three East Asian countries - China, Japan, and Korea - have
been holding the international conference on Traditional Forest-
related Knowledge since 2008, and the 5th conference was held
on Seoan, China in last year.
Until now, total 10 countries and about 200 individuals
had participated at the scientific meeting,
