MULTIVOLT CHARGERS

The charge system is the IUa. The bulk current can be regulated from zero to

maximum using a potentiometer, while the voltage threshold knob can be set

to any of 12 values. Charge time is set with a timer and is normally 0-24

hours.

IMPORTANT: This charger is ideal for recovering old sulfated batteries.It can also be used as a current generator, or to charge a single battery cell

or small cell stacks. This charger can be customized.

EQUALIZATION & MAINTENANCE

THE EQUALIZATION FUNCTION MAINTENANCE

In a new battery, all the cells are in the same condition. However, after the firstcycle of charge-discharge, small tension difference between cells can alreadybe detected. In subsequent charge-discharge cycles, these differences be-

comemore pronounced, affecting battery performance and reducing its life span.The Equalization function, common to all Energic Plus chargers, ensures thatall

cells in a battery operate at the same level, even after years of continuoususe.The Equalization function involves four additional short charge cycles after thebatterys normal charge is completed (the diagram illustrates this process).The result is improved battery performance and an extended battery life span.

If a battery is to remain unused for a long period, it must be keptfully charged to avoid diminished performance down the road. Further,a battery kept in stock for more than 24 hours is susceptible to autodischarge;

the longer a battery remains stocked, the more difficult it becomesto keep that battery charged.The Maintenance Function performed by our Digital Chargers keeps a batteryfully charged when it is unused for extended periods. Simply connect the Digi-

talcharger to the battery in stock, and the maintenance function is automatic.Our Digital Technology monitors battery voltage, maintaining a constant volt-agebetween 2.17 and 2.37V/cell.
