Symbiosis

Commensalism is a relationship between two organisms, one organismbenefits from the other while the other organism is not adversely affected

Symbiosis

Parasitism is a relationship between two organisms, only one organismcalled parasite gets benefits from the other organism called the host

Chapter4.2 Interaction Among Living Things

Competition

Animals compete for food, water, living space and mates for reproduction

Plants compete for sunlight, water, air, mineral salts and living space

Competition occurs when organisms compete for the limited resources

A predator usually has special features that help them hunt their prey, such as long, sharp teeth or claws

A prey usually has special features to run away or protect themselves from the predator

Symbiosis refers to the close relationship between different organisms that live together

In the competition, stronger organisms usually will successful in controlling their territory whereas the weaker organisms will leave the area or die

Biological control is a method using predator to destroy certain prey, to control the population of an organism
