ROPS Certified Cab, Roll Over Protection Structure Inspection Guide

Cab has been certified to ISO 21299 standard

• Permanent deformation or twisting.• Missing, damaged, or loose mounting hardware.• Mounting hardware that is of a grade lesser than specified.• Any cracks in structure (structural members and/or welds).• Significant corrosion. • Modifications, i.e. unauthorized welds or holes.• Missing or unreadable labels.• Machine GVW (including attachments, restrained payload, fuel and

operator) in excess of the maximum weight specified on the machine label.• Missing or unusable operator restraint devices. (i.e. seat belts)• Any unauthorized repair.• Incomplete/improper installation.

Other conditions may require imminent service but may not renderthe unit immediately unusable. Examples are:• Faded paint.• Faded hard to read labels.• Heavily soiled operator restraints. (seat belts)• Slightly corroded mounting hardware.• Cab must be inspected immediately after any type of collision, rollover, or

impact. If any damage is evident, the cab must be removed from service, repaired and/or replaced.

• When cab is removed or reinstalled, mounting hardware must be examined for signs of over stressing. Damaged mounting hardware must be replaced before placing the cab back in service.

• Operators are to be instructed to properly adjust and use restraints, seatbelts, at all times.

Jodale • Perry

ROPS certified cab like any other safety devices needs to be periodically inspected to verify that the integrity of the devise has not been compromised though normal machine use, misuse, age degrading, modifications, or rollovers.

Some mechanical discretion is essential, therefore personnel whoinspect the cab need to comprehend and understand the significance of issues like structural corrosion, cracks, and deformation. Conservatism is the essential rule. If in doubt, remove the machine from service and contact cab manufacturer for assistance. Examples are:

12

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

1. Position the machine on a level surface. Set the parking brake, lower the cutting units, turn the ignition off and removethe key.

2. Remove roll bar from mower. Save fasteners for later reinstallation.

3. Remove the escape window, door, and lower right window from the cab. Save fasteners for later reinstallation.

4. Connect the fusible link harness between the battery and the positive harness on the cab wire harness.

5. Now is the time to connect the electrical harness to the machine. Connect the cab wire harness with fusible link to the battery positive and negative. Connect the spade terminal to the fuse block, from the Auxiliary Power accessory kit, model 30382. Install the 10 amp fuse.

Page 16: Form No: 3360-945 REV B ROPS HARD CAB

16

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS16. Lower cab onto isolators.17. Tighten rubber isolator mount nuts to 7/8” distance between

steel plates. Ensure equal distance on both sides for cab for proper fit. See Bolt Hole Alignment Schematic for order of fasteners.

18. Fasten remaining two side bolts on front bracket through hole drilled in Step 10.

19. Tighten all fasteners to torque specifications.20. Connect the cab three prong connector to the connector

HEATER INSTALLATION

21. Drain anti-freeze from the engine before proceeding.22. Located the thermostat sensor on the right side of the

thermostat housing, remove, and set aside. Install provided 3/8” NPT adaptor. Reinstall sensor on end of adaptor. Install provided 3/8” NPT x 3/8” barb straight fitting into top of adaptor. This is the pressure fitting.

17

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS23. Locate the lower radiator hose below the alternator on left

side of engine. Cut out a 2“ piece of hose from the straight piece of radiator hose, and install the provided radiator hose splicer. Secure the splicer with #20 hose clamps. (101199) Install the provided 3/8” NPT x 3/8” barb straight fitting into the splicer.

Jodale • Perry

24. Locate the heater hose at the base of the left cab C-Post. Route the hose into the engine bay. Ensure hose does not interfere with any moving engine parts. Cut the hose in half. Take the hose labeled pressure, and connect to fitting as shown. Take the other hose end and connect to the suction fitting. Use two provided #10 hose clamps (100914) to attach the hose to the fitting. PLEASE NOTE: Use a water sealant material around all fittings.

25. Re-fill the engine with anti-freeze. Open the cab heater valve using the rotary control on the switch plate, and turn on the fan. Start the vehicle, engage the PTO and run at high idle for five minutes to build up engine heat. Check for leaks and add anti-freeze if required. For maximum heater efficiency, all air trapped in the heater system must be evacuated. TIP: To purge system of air, open radiator cap while running the engine.

26. Continue running the engine and adding anti-freeze as required until cab heater produces hot air.PLEASE NOTE: The heater should be producing HOT air at high idle. Continue adjusting heater control lever cable until that point is reached.
