Re-position of one block of Latrine in IDPs Camp School Reticulation of water from Ngala Chad Basin Development Authority

Mechanical and Manual dislodgement is to be consider during dislodgement in ISS Camp due to the camp congestion. (Excavation and Cover of dumping site in Ngala)
Need for additional latrines and bath shelters in Arabic IDP camp

Follow up with Ngala District Head for final approval.

• Preparedness for possible outbreak in Ngala considering the season we are now. Need for chlorinators in all hand pumps in both camps (ISS and Arabic)
Readiness to combat any outbreak at all time
All hand pumps are not chlorinated and there is need for the chlorination

2. Ngala Gap Analysis update (Implementation progress to-date)
UNICEF : Health talk and hygiene promotion ongoing in both IDP camps on
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays through community volunteers. Saturdays environmental sanitation The drilling of one motorize borehole in IS camp is ongoing Rehabilitated one motorize borehole behind MCH Gamboro and plan
to reticulate the water into the clinic. (MCH) Distributed hygiene kits to 700 household centred to new arrivals
from February 2018 to date in Arabic camp, and planning to continue with the distributions next week
UNICEF provide two bladders to there clinic in ISS camp to provide water to the clinic, and one bladder to provide water to IDPs, the two bladders were refilled via water trucking, chlorinated at tank level.
Fhi360 : Saturdays General camp clean-up campaign ongoing in both camps. House to house hygiene promotion session ongoing in both camps. Conducting water quality test and batch chlorination of four water
points in both camps. Distributed 60L of fuel and 30L of diesel for powering water point
generators in both camps, when sun is down to powered solar. Distributed five set of latrine cleaning tools, comprises of Two hard
brooms, two soft brooms, four pairs of heavy gloves, four pairs of Rain boot, one pack of noise mask, two gallons of Izal and one plastic

bucket. To the new allocated latrines and bath showers to IDPs (New arrivals) in Arabic Camp.
Conducted focus group discussions on open defecation with the newly arrived IDPs in Arabic camp. (personal hygiene, and improved HP).
Distributed 1000 hygiene kits to 590 HH in Arabic camp and 410 HH in ISS Camp) targeted to aged people, widows, caregiver, people with disabilities and child headed household centred to new arrivals).
Planned distribution of hygiene kits in both camps as replenishment. WASH facilities repairs is ongoing in both comps, that is, Latrines and
Bath showers.
Solidarites Hygiene promotion is ongoing in ISS Camp Installation of 34 blocks of five stances latrine and 17 blocks of five
stances bath showers, so far, installations of 28 blocks of five stances latrine and 7 blocks of five stances bath showers is at 50% level of completion in ISS camp, and the constructions is ongoing.
Drilling of one motorize borehole in international school IDP camp is ongoing at the 144 depth so far.
Rehabilitation of solar powered motorize borehole in Bash ward in the host community is at 95% level of completion, waiting for the tank painting.
Dislodgement of latrines pending on when the dumping site will be ready.
Reticulation of two tap stances in Ngala town is ongoing.
MSF Sensitisation in both camp and host community on hygiene
promotion and other aspect of WASH Tools on ground for channelling the water in the host community to
IS camp All managed water points by MSF are in fully operational. The 40 community volunteers in both IDP camps and host community
are fully engage into Sensitization and hygiene promotion sessions.

3. Intersos
Construct an incinerator in the health facility for proper management of waste
Contractor has mobilized to site for the drilling of one motorize borehole in Arabic camp.
Plan to rehabilitate one Hand pumps in opposite the health facility in Gamboro word C Host communities.
Plan to rehabilitate one borehole in Arabic camp behind FHI360 Clinic in Ngala.
Construction of 45 latrines and 45 bath showers is ongoing in the Arabic camp out of 63 blocks, at super structure level, (50% level of completion)
Engauge 10 un-skills persons on cash for work in the Arabic of which they will be train later as WASHCOM on maintenance of latrines and bath showers.

Apologised for coming late to the meetings, (Attending another meeting) and later appreciate the team work in WASH sector and promise to continued giving support to WASH and all the partners in Ngala.

Need for additional hygiene promoters in Arabic camp due to the high influx of IDPs in the Camp.
Intersos CCCM and military in Arabic raise alarm for additional hygiene promoters due to the camp expansion, and considering the present weather. (Season)
