Exhibitor Statements

MICHAEL BREME, Head of Tool Making, Audi

I’m impressed – for me, this was a very, very successful debut event. Those of us at Audi who work in tool making have a pro-found interest in the technology involved in additive processes. We see a great deal of potential in formnext, especially in the combination of additive manufacturing technologies. By employing these innovative technologies with our conventional instru-ments, we’re creating entirely new generations of tools. Meanwhile, formnext’s ability to draw a highly international audience also offers an array of opportunities to make new contacts.

TORSTEN KAIRIES, Head of Manufacturing, Logistics and Tool Making, C. Josef Lamy

We present ourselves as a company that makes tools for injection molding. In my view, formnext’s potential lies in the way it factors in the entire process chain, from initial concepts to finished production series. Whether it’s the product development process, finished articles for customers, or any of the possible production variants involved – 3D printing, metal sintering tech-niques, or forms and tools made by LAMY – this event really has everything covered.

FRANK HERZOG, CEO, Concept Laser

Concept Laser is known as one of the most cutting-edge companies in 3D metal printing. It’s not just about machine platforms, however: These days, people are talking about processes before and after the machine. In formnext, we now have an outstanding forum where we can introduce large numbers of people to our innovative, forward-thinking products in a short space of time. I believe formnext has tre-mendous potential to become a premiere exhibition and conference in additive manufacturing, especially when it comes to metal printing.

KAI WITTER, Head of Central Sales, EOS

formnext has clearly established itself as the leading event where the global additive manufacturing (AM) industry comes together. Frankfurt is also the perfect location for an international exhibition, which gives EOS one more good reason to present its entire solution portfolio here. The quality of formnext’s attendees is outstanding as well, which is exactly what the industry needs. Finally, the way the event merges AM and more traditional manufacturing processes is right in line with the latest developments.

DR. KRISTIAN ARNTZ, Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology (IPT)

For those of us at Fraunhofer, it’s important that we offer comprehensive solutions for process chains in industrial manufactur-ing. In our opinion, the most valuable aspect of formnext is the opportunity it presents to rub elbows with a great deal of cus-tomers who are really interested in integrating conventional and more cutting-edge technologies. This is a key area in which we’re also offering an array of services to the surrounding industry at the moment. For quite a few years now, tool making com-panies have been busy coming up with solutions for highly complex products. At the same time, additive technologies are now providing advantages we haven’t even begun to fully comprehend. This connection between product and production is some-thing that will become much more important than it already is in the years ahead.

RAINER LOTZ, Managing Director, Renishaw

Frankfurt is the perfect exhibition location for showing off our latest developments. Renishaw is a company that takes a very broad approach to business and operates in virtually every area of production, from optimization to the inspection of finished components. At formnext, we demonstrate the entire process chain in manufacturing, which ultimately also includes additive technologies. Through its focus on this field, formnext has succeeded in attracting a very high level of attendee quality.

STEFAN RITT, VP of Global Marketing and Communication, SLM Solutions

Formnext presents a great deal of potential for the future. First of all, attendees understand that when it comes to additive manufacturing and ongoing processing, they need both. Second, we’re telling manufacturers of lathes, milling machines, and machine tools to rest easy – we’re not looking to replace them. These two points are what the formnext exhibition and con-ference demonstrates to lasting effect. We’re also very pleased with the professional quality of those who attended. Every conversation we had was based on a specialist background, which is hardly the case at other events.
